Opportunity to drive across from Golden after this weekend (mostly to avoid windfest crowd). Long drive and I am not amazing at reading the Nitinaht pattern. Anyone offer up some advice? Likely Monday to Sunday....worth it?
Cheers,

this September long weekend looks hot!! but it could potentially be too hot for the lake.. although during typical outflow conditions the lake still seems to blow when the JDF is easterly.

any thought on this weekend??? Randy seems to have taken the summer off!

Nitinaht should be windy. Plenty of cool air along the coast for a gradient. :P

Nitinat should rock Labour Day weekend

Post by Sandy Beach »

I bet Nitinat will blow this weekend

It was nice and windy 19-24 knots in PA yesterday, marine fog bank in Alberni inlet this morning, but, forecasting for lots of heat here in PA. May not blow in PA today, but, I bet Nitinat will work.

End of summer already!

I'm seeing heat on the coast, low 30s, and low to mid 30s inland. I'm also wondering if it'll be to hot to blow. Plus there's a kite demo, so that's guaranteed to kill the wind.

Uh oh 8) Enjoy today & Saturday if you can because: 0:31 AM PDT Friday 01 September 2017
Special weather statement in effect for:

Greater Victoria

Hot weekend ahead...

An unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure is forecast to build over British Columbia this weekend. Temperatures will start to climb today and will push into the low 30s by Sunday for areas away from the immediate coast.

Under this weather pattern, the airmass will also become quite stagnant. Combined with developing outflow winds, it is possible that wildfire smoke will eventually make its way out to the coast.

Computer weather models currently indicate that the ridge will be quite persistent with the hot weather lasting until at least Wednesday.
Thermals are good.
