Looked like it might come good at Ross Bay for a bit today so I left the house with fingers crossed. Arrived to Bobson and one winger already out. Rigged the big foil as it was pretty light. Had a few good rides on the small chop in the big ebb just under the point as a few others arrived. Came in near the end to put on the smaller foil, of course it was starting to die when I got back out. Fun session at the Terminal with Dmitry, Andrew and a few others. Finally had a good session on my wr980 and had a bit of a taste of what down winding would be like. There was some nice knee high swell at the end of the terminal where Dmitry and I sailed for a while. You could jibe off one and then just cruise toeside down wind for what seemed like ages. Wing-sesh #6. Put in an hour on the Windfoil then it picked up to 15kts so came in and rigged the 6.2m Ensis Wing. Got some foiling runs in but no actual foiling gybes but stayed dry the whole time so that was nice. Wind dropped off again so struggled getting on the foil without a huge amount of pumping. I figure I need a solid 13kts to get up and then maybe 10-12 to keep going. Some fun runs but as it's been lately not quite enough wind. Arrived early to get my parking spot. I really wanted to Wing again and I think RB is the best place for me to progress. So I waited 30 mins and the wind filled in to gusts of 10-12kts. Pumped up the 7.0m and headed out for an hour until it filled in a bit more for my Winging. Came in after 40 mins as it was picking up and there were lots of Wings on the beach waiting. Unexpected session. Wind looked around 10-12 when I arrived with Bobson Windfoiling and somebody else I didnt recognize getting around on the foil, so started getting ready with the 5M. Forgot my pump - but Fraser loaned me one! Thanks. Slogged my way out to the wind line and hopped on foil. Made my way up to the point and did my best to not fall off foil for about 20 mins before the wind picked up to 15-18 and a few others joined in. With yesterday's RB fake-cast, I decided to jump on the actual light wind at IV. Arrived to 10-13kts and no one around. Looked good so rigged the 6.0m as the 7.0m is a lot of work and my body was fairly tired from last nights 2 hours of Wing-schlog. Anyways, got out and was foiling right away in the light winds and didn't really come off the foil the whole session. It felt natural and easy and fast. I like the Wing-Thing, but the Windsurf foil still has it's merits like I know how to do it and don't get wet ... (more)

Finally sorted the dw board. Foil in the right spot and the jibes started coming together. Not perfect but conected many. Conditions were light with Bobson blowing past me windfoiling. Got a solid hour in and the the wind started to lighten up. Having a dw board is so good to get more sessions in in marginal conditions.

As per usual, got out before it had built sufficiently, so watched enviously as neighbor Mike on the kite sped away- after a bit of pumping, cursing, sweating, managed to get foiling.

Rigged the 10m Ultra and foil and headed out, wind was light at the launch point, but once out on the water, it was pretty good. Still dialing in the kite as it is pretty grunty, but allowed me to keep foiling through the lulls. A fun chilled out sunset session.

Low end testing. Played upwind with Tweezer until it really lulled and just made it in. Pretty incredible how the downwind board allows a 1080 to work well with a 5m in 10 knots. Took the 1675 out for a run when it went to 6 knots and tanked. Weird, cold fun.

Best part of today was there was a Grey Whale in Ross Bay. Not sure what he was doing but he was blowing quite often and stayed just on the inside of the point from what I saw. It was pretty cool, Wing-schlogging and hearing a big whale-blow behind me. YIKES!!! Persistence or NutBar, just give up it's not going to happen. First time I've ever passed Bobson foiling. Enough said!.... kidding, good light wind session and great seeing Bobson make it work with a windfoil board.
I love the Dw board for getting up in the low wind but am definitely struggling with foot switches and the board length in the jibes. Just need some more time to dial it in.

Spent the first hour on the 999 which felt twichy as the waves were a little lumpy. Came in for 890 and 3M and everything smoothed out . the further Danno and I went out the better the waves got longest rides ever kept turning and another wave would appear beside me some great turns awesome day.

Busy rigging area :)) Local fin crew, David M, UdderReef, HiYoSilver and Mike, all rigging small. Gusty in the parking lot, white caps in the bay, waves hitting the point. Oh! It's gonna be good! Big waters past Clark. Fully powered on the 3m. Took me a while to get my act together. Sounding like a broken record - another fabulous hour-long session a club RB. This time with Greg, Matt, and DocMark. Wind was so good, I was lifting 20m off the beach! More mellow swells right in the bay, perfect training wheels for for a flagged-out newb like me. Got lucky a few times and starting to get a better swell feel. Greg was further out where the swells were bigger. Oddly my Garmin quit early. It may not be Piper's, but it is definitely RB sweetness!

Wow! More wind than expected, glad I rigged small! Launch at 1045 after walking upwind until I felt the wind fill-in, a little down from the old kite launch. Waded out in waves and swell until it was deep enough. Up to Acadia in 1/2 hr and a few wings out. Fully powered and loving the new wings. Since using them I've stopped falling in. Just so light in my hands! Felt comfortable from the first reach. One of my best sessions. More suspects showed up in the afternoon.
