After working overnight decided on a chill session in Lantzville as the brain wasn't firing on all cylinders ( actually, it rarely ever is '?). Beautiful tropical conditions with zero boat traffic. Continue to be impressed with the performance of the Omen Emissary - feeling very much like the one board quiver.

Wing taped after yesterday's fiasco. Bobson out with first lick of wind, so had to follow. Tape job appeared to hold okay but was not trying any complicated transitions. Still managed a bunch of spray on the wing. Seemed to hold. Eventually went up the inlet and got near what appears to be Hook Bay, with a boat and some infrastructure/docks. It was more windy and way more wavy as I got to where the inlet started opening up after the second green (land based) channel marker on the west shore. I would ... (more)

Classic China Creek day!! On the water at 1pm, Wing foiled for just over 3 hours and didn't get wet. Came off the foil once as I sailed into a dead patch. Sunny and hott all day. Came in after 3 hours and grabbed a sangy and some nuts and put on more sunscreen and a long sleeved bright yellow shirt to keep the sun off. Was in a 3/2 no-sleeve wetsuit bit could have been on board shorts as water is warm and it was 25 degrees or more all day! After lunch headed back out with TnT and BennyD up the lake watchi ... Great day, just so changeable. Started off with my 6m with the winds questionable with biggish swells. Lifted at mid bay and had great fun with pretend flag runs in the smooth swell. But, the winds steadily increased until I felt too OP'd. Went in to switch to 4 or 5m. However, as I was going back in, the foiling hordes were coming back in due to dropping winds. There was still enough for me, so back out in the 6m. Quickly, the winds increased, so much so that I managed to rip the wing seam connecting the l ... (more)

Got there early thinking I'd relax and wait for the wind but turned the corner and the S wind was up with some fun looking waves. Had about an hour in 12-15 with some smooth rollers and was surprised the 690/3.5/48L combo worked. The wind died and I bobbed around on the outside, happy that the orcas weren't feeding, and finally swam into the point. Finally got back to the beach after a long walk and the W wind filled strong and had some fun on the outside swell.

First day out in a few weeks and on a new board. First sinker for me and was great while the wind was up. But definetly want to be powered up to use it. Had a good first 30 min then came in to adjust the mast forward. Wind died off as I was in. Rigged the 6m but the wind completely died off so was a quick session.

Two separate sessions. After a half day of work didn't get on the water until around 1 or 2 pm. Started with the 3.5m and had a good session. Went back out around 6 or 7 pm with the 4.6m. More backwind sailing, downwind 360s, and around-the-world (which I'm not completing, yet). It was windy but generally flat so easier to work on transitions. Also trying to switch feet before turns, so rarely do this that it is like starting over. China Creek is great for this as you can skim near or on the water wh ... (more)

Time-limited short session, made shorter with fickle winds. I gambled and rigged a 4m once the wind started coming back, which turned out to be a fairly good choice for the short time I was out. That said, the winds were so all over the place that any size wing would have been appropriate at some point during the same time frame. I had my first official flag out with wing at my waist, several turns made, wing redeployed and off I went. That felt fantastic.

Wind came back and I salvaged my grumpy AF earlier session. Oh the 830 Nomad is fun on the SUP. Wind died again; off to bday party that overlooks RB from Moss Rock and could see Bday Tuna and everyone ripping with the next blast of wind. Weird wind today but fun swell.

Started off beautifully and devolved into unadulterated, hateful spewing of expletives into the wind. So frustrating being overpowered on the 4m Parawaing, then underpowered on the 3, then back to the 4m underpowered wth a swim. Dave had a bigger swim, so that made me feel a lot better.

Warm summer Friday evening! Lots of holes in the wind, made it a little tricky on the 780 and 3M wing, but seemed to get the job done till the end of the session. Mellow crowd, with mainly just BWD, IdeFix, Rupp dog and myself lapping the nice well in the bay. Didnt want to venture too far down with the 3m and inconsistent wind. Wattersons gave me a beer and pizza after the session which is always nice!

working today out towards Carmanah so stashed the truck with hopes of a late session. ended up getting on the water at 4pm. good solid breeze, hung out up at the river mouth, staying upwind and working on my 1/2 jibes. getting the hang of the MA too , bit of a baby step down from my S1. Lots of windsurfers out today!

Quick evening session, everyone long gone, foggy, wind cranking. Ocean was a mogul patch with bumps everywhere, tons of energy, would been epic downwind.

Back to the lake after trip to Winter Harbour. Brought gear up there but fishing took priority. Looking forward to more exploring spots next year for some first foil track potential. Usual lake wind kicked in and was gusty AF. Played around and worked on duck gybes, Heineken gybes and tacks. Impressed with the maneuverability of the 1099 and the stall speed. Really great to enjoy the lake and the beach all day with the family then get some foil time right here.

Very fast and nimble kite. Like it, lots of power, very useful in variable winds.
