:D Finally got out after waiting with the gang for 3 hours. Robin and Dave were ripping it up on the wave faces, I snuck into some smaller sets and slalomed surprised surfers. No mishaps or broken gear. :wink: Watched the sun set, came in and went home smiling!

What a pleasant sail, no injuries or breakage, warmish still, sailing mostly overpowered with a flat 5.8, lonely windsurfer out til lateron, waves built near the end. A bit up/down to start @10, then steady 11 onward; should've timed my start a bit later tho, who knew?? Not the model or EC :evil: Could have been on 4.8 at the end but my wheaties were all used up :wink:

Spent part of the morning watching the bears (from the safety of my kayak) wandering along the shoreline in their search for spawning salmon and got caught in the wind and chop at the Nitinat River estuary which made for a slow paddle back to the campsite. Other than somebody gill netting off Knob Point no one else on the water with WR and myself. Beautiful warm afternoon on the beach and out sailing. Hard to keep clear of jumping coho! What a great time of year to soak up the autumnal rhythms of Nitinat.

Some strong wind and a little lift early, petered out as more folks showed up. One close call with a motorboat cruinsing close to shore who couldn't hear or see me until I was almost in his cabin! Well, it is Floriday !! Arrived to 100 F, humidity and light winds... Spent one day 'surfing' ankle biters at Cocoa beach (a nose ride or too) then today PM on an AHD formula with a Gaastra 9.8 for a few hours. Onshore winds made getting away from shore a chore, but stable light winds allowed some decent planing. Nice people, uncrowded (3 boards, no kites) and bathtub warm ocean. Can't wait for the next session at CB though.....

Golden hour my friends, golden hour. Arrived ~5, rigged, and voila, perfect reaches to Maude Island (~2.5 km) in relatively stable 7.5-6.5 conditions. One "jump" with a gust, but mostly cruisin' with the Carve. Last two (shorter) reaches were 'upwind without a plane' practice (seems I still need to work on that Dan :). An excellent way to finish the last golden rays of the sun. Very Nice.

Solo dawn patrol again at a new spot (for me). Stared out looking like skunkage but it filled in and I would have put the 5.0 on, but went to work instead :? . Tried some vulcans - got nowhere, partly thanks to cold hands for the first time since spring. Should have waited and sailed at lunch instead. Still, nice way to start the day :D .

Gusty frontal stuff. Confused choppy swell. Some mini break at E Pt. Kited back up to Oar Rd in about 20 mins. 7m Yarga works well - nice low end.
