First time windsurfing in months, almost 2 years since my last wave sailing session! Forgot how much work fun wave sailing was, lots of work but so much fun! Felt weird stepping on a windsurf board, first jibe my back foot almost missed the board. Then caught my first ride and ya it's the best feeling ever! SC delivered lots of wind and super nice sized waves! First hour was the best, every reach out there was a wave, then things got bigger but a little harder to find and line up. By the end I couldn't ho ... (more)

My only regret is not using the 85cm mast for Jericho. Might have saved a few falls with the 85cm. Mast was 70cm. Staying upwind. Still working on pointing high. It feels like it could be forever before I can gybe, if ever. The wind was awesome. Friday looking good for SE. I had kiting equipment for the morning, but changed goals and just Winged. Great to see the gang. First use of the 4.2 North wing. Nice to hold a smaller wing.

nice easy launch with steady as wind at cook st... crowded at clover.. maybe 5 kites and nobody at my beach but it was so kelpy its understandable! not much for waves.. other than boat wake.. little more sloppy chop at clover to rip up but it was short lived as I was overpowered on the 12m outside in the rolly polly gusty stuff! does anybody sail cook st anymore? fine by me

Seemed like a quick session compared to other summer sessions. Flat water and super gusty. Boats going by but no other foilers. Probably could have gone with the 4.5m but opted for bigger as I didn't want to schlog. Loving my set up right now, easy to get foiling, easy to gybe, easy to flat out or head straight up/down wind to depower. Foiled right in to the beach multiple times, close enough to say Hi to people on the beach. Saw the bottom so decided that was close enough.

Finally got some meaningful wind at Pipers today. Fun 1.5 hour or so on smaller gear (for me that is). Then graduated to bigger boards as day progressed, but should of gone to a 6.0 at the end. Nice to see Rainex (Mark) ripping on a windsurf board. Also joined by Alex, MarkK, Sarah and a Kiter. Wind got quite west and offshore at times.

    Still warm and friendly!!!

SP is a fickle moistress. I udderstand why the place is deserted moist times but with the tide like that right when the wind is typically best at SP it's not to be denied. The wind last night contributed to the best waves of the season for me. (yes it's not been much of a season)

Loving the windsurf foil sessions. Got it dialed in a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, my w/s foil session started out 6/10 enjoyment, as it was around 13 knots. After about 30 minutes, it started cranking (20-25 knots) and my enjoyment went to 8/10. My new trick with flying on the foil, is to close my eyes. Feel instead of think. It works like magic. Was like meditation on the water. The board/foil and sail know what to do, I'm just along for the ride. I can fly for quite a distance with a few slappy touchdowns ... (more)

First proper wave session with the Hypernut. Definitely needs to be in a fairly steep wave to get going when the wind is so light. Caught a few that surprised me and missed a lot I thought I had. Seems like the trim is very critical.

Lively once it's up and going plus fairly easy to uphaul. Definitely coming for the ride on marginal CB days.

After spending Saturday in the rain in the campsite, I woke up to sunshine and a light breeze. Wind really hit around 1 and rigged the 12m and decided to hit the water with the surfboard first. Not that many people out on the water, so there was lots of room to try out a few new things. After about 45mins came back in to switch it up with the foil board. I could actually stay up wind this time with a few mini/micro rides and a few crashes as well. Couldn't make it back down wind so I decided to body-dr ... (more)

Holy Crap!! Great day!! Arrived at Noon to 10-12, on the water before1 in 12-15kts. No one here. Maybe 6-7 others on the water. At one point it was just DOG, BigD and myself on the water all wind-Foiling. Soo much fun sailing with other Windfoilers. Wind picked up so went down to my new 4.5m Sailworks Flyer. Perfect size! That is going to be my new go-to sail. It was good down to 13-14kts and good for rest of the day. Wind continued till 6:30pm ish. 9.5/10 day. Finished with Corona's on the beach, steak, ... (more)

Awesome day of steady wind and smooth water. Started at noon on 12m+surfboard in SW 16-18 only to realized that my 8m would work so spend over 2 hrs on 8m+surfboard chasing kite foilers way upwind into the smooth blue water ... then enjoyed some sweet swell rides down at Nexen.

Almost called it a day at 3pm when the wind ramped up to SW 20 gusting 24 so pumped up my 6m to enjoy another hour of swell riding in the river mouth.

What an amazing way to end the week!
