2.70 hours hot tub bubbly with brown pops 6x6
    Damsel Poncha leopard skin
Cold! 94/4.2 was my call, lasted 40min then it became work. After some struggling went to 5.0. Of course wind returned 45 later to OP, held on for a while then relented to 4.2. almost quit but waves finally showed up more. One fun backie, a few good rides. Windoc made a cameo on his wing, 8 other sails out, some suspicious guy taking pix, one other photog. Hot tub was divine

Arrived at 9am to 12-15kts and MtnarG rigging. I ate my McD's breaky sangy and decided today was not the day to start Winging. Yes, I'm a bit of a princess. I only want to Wing in perfect conditions. I rigged the 5.2m Sailworks Flyer with 80% power. It didn't take much to get foiling, the 5.2 was definitely the right choice. I could have rigged the 4.5m and been fine but not as powered up. I probably just sucked it up and tried the Wing but with the onshore wind and it being 4-5 degrees I decided I'd like t ... (more)

Spent the whole time either fully luffed out, or hanging on for dear life!

While playing in that much wind with the 4m is "exhilarating ", i much prefer 5kts less and able to maneuver with the 5m.

More scaredy cat light wind sailing. Hands got real cold in the end riding tide & 1st Narrows puffs down to 27th street in W. Van . Target was the Beadie tri bouy set at 28th & Argyle but ran out of time.

Good test sailing the 4km back to the Sailing Club, then becalmed and twacked by light northerlies coming straight from the clubhouse. Took 20 minutes to get 200 meters dead upwind to my rack space. Oh well. Dinner delayed to 6:30pm. Sorry mom.

Got into Willows at 9ish just as an unknown foiler was getting out and giving up. I set up just in case the forecasted winds came up. MtnarG, BigBird, Bobson soon showed up and looked out disappointingly, but hopefully, at the flat water. The winds came up a bit and I gave it a shot. Lots of slogging. Blow-up board was a bit sticky. Ended up with just a couple of short foiling runs and one flying jibe before the winds expired. Sad, but the sunshine, winger banter, and warmth was nice. Good session on the 1250HA and North Nova 5m. Really love the Y handles on this wing, especially when reaching under the wing during starting on my knees. So much to grab! Nice to have some company on the water with Dimitri on his impossibly tiny kite foil board. Some surprising swell for an Easterly.

The wind was softening but I gave it a whirl with the big kite. I was decently powered and was getting upwind with no trouble but there were some big lulls. I had to walk the beach back upwind a couple of times. Once the kite fell out of the sky but I was able to get it to relaunch. I decided to not push it after that. I came in and had a great post-session chat with Chase and Finn. I am not sure why but my GPS did not work properly today.

Arrived to Gus, John and Richard enjoying the waves and a solid 15knts. Rigged the 5.5 and new skinny tail. The 275P is really fun but tiring to have to micro manage the pitch instability. Spent the session riding the steep shore break north and south of the ramp and dialing in the skinny. Got some glide back and the speed is good but lost some maneuverability. It dropped and I hope those who arrived after got some.

Today's session far exceeded the weirdness of the forecast. Headed to RB after Bobson's OSR, meeting up with Mtnarg, Lancer, and the usual RB suspects. WindMD said a 4m would go, so I went with my 5m to compensate for my developing competence. Played carving games in the bay and even used the kelped area for slalom work. Lots of whoop passes with Gus and Bobson. My big Starboard inflatable lifted easily with my big foil and the big winds. Sweet session and I quit before my arms and the winds expired.

Confusing forecast for today, a day ago it was RB westerly, last night it was no westerly go SE Willows, this morning no SE, westerly is back on! So trundle down to RB, everyone saying it's better than it looks. Rigged big wing/foil combo and had plenty of power to fly. The odd good bits of swell up near Clover to play in, generally small or flat. Quite chilly today, back using gloves after past 2 no-glove sessions. SE tomorrow? who knows

Wing Pretending. Arrived early to Twizz and RBLocal out Foiling off the point with Windoc rigging his bright orange (this colour Wing has me written all over it) 5.0m Wing and DW pencil board. I went with the 5.2m as it looked like 12-17kts. Got out and played in the waves. Since I'm going to start Winging I thought I'd pretend today and try foiling down some waves and stand on top of the board more trying to 'Do the Drunken Monkey'. It was quite fun weaving in and out and not hiked out over the side going ... (more)

Nice South session in the sun '?.

Launch 10 and swim out to the wind line. A little gusty and shifty, but better past the km marker. Enjoy lightweight Glide A 6m when it shut off and I sailed in sitting on my board. So easy to hold up in the breeze.

Fun swells and the wind once again was better than forecast. Wingdoc joined then Gus and Bobson then the full squad showed up as I packed it in. Sunny and cold!

Best session since the coast last year. Waves were epic, 3 wingers out and one windsurfer, maybe John? Every time I sailed past Jeryn we just looked at each other in disbelief. My longest flagged out rides to date. Got taken out by a few monsters though and it was a struggle to get going again. Trying to do the stink bug start in head high breaking waves is punishing but those long rides were worth the struggle. Unfortunately my watch died half way through the session, so only half the gps track.

Timing is everything. Expected the wind to die, so I spent the morning watching it on the computer. Decided it was worth a trip to the beach. Arrived as TunaCan and Tweezer were getting off the water. It kept getting stronger, so I rigged the 4m. (Half of my usual). The shore break was huge, but I eventually muscled my way through it. Then the wind started to die a bit. Went back to the beach. Watched Bobson launch. Pumped the 5m and headed out with Greg. The shore break was a lot less. Everything looked ... (more)

Very powered 10m session with waist/shoulder high waves out by the Mike Marker.

Got blown off the water when wind ramped up and gusted 30+, was tempted to grab the TT for fun speedruns and boosties between the growing sandbars.

Great waves with lots of lip-smacking goodness, when the wind and swell angle start working, that place is magic. Shame no other surfcraft shared the sesh, but looks like they were on it earlier.

Sad I missed the Wing Party, Tsawassen!

Nope, not Winging yet. Still need a Wing. Arrived to Willows with TunaCan and The Twizz packing it in which was weird cause it looked amaze-balls!! Probably 20-25kts onshore. Mtnarg heading out before me on the 4.0m and me rigging a 4.5m. About 1,000 kids all poured onto the beach from the local school which made things interesting with A LOT of screaming. Anyways, got out there and it was great for 25 mins then within 5 mins it died to absolutely nothing and I aimed for the beach with GregCan and Mtnarg si ... (more)

What a fantastic start to the Winds of March! I was looking for a short session, being still tired from snow day Thursday, and the forecast looked promising. It was much better than that! Onshore wind was initially tough, but, once up, it was ON! Continually well powered pretty well everywhere. Tweezer joined me after a bit and showed me how the elite riding skills. I was tiring by then and quit. But, after a short rest, I found a bit of extra energy and went out for a second short session. The winds were j ... (more)

Launch at high noon on the outgoing tide. 3.5m was the right call, even over-powered at times. First session on new MA 1050 cm2! Nice! Wore the 7mm Xcell mitts as had trouble keeping my hands warm in 5mm gloves previously. Nice and toasty in the dry suit with three layers of fleece under. No need for knee pads under the dry suit with the dual-density deck-pad. The swell was huge at times and I tried to stay away from the breaking sets. Really challenging conditions, but felt rewarded for my efforts. Steady ... (more)
