Windy! Started off slowly and even looked a bit like it might not happen with a bit of bubble along the beach. Took to the water after watching the 'testers'. Decent crew of about 10! Enough swell to hold everyone's interest! Shared a couple of waves and smiles with Ozy! Wind kept building and hit overdrive around 4 pm! Lots of sand blowing on the beach! Timing was spot on for the wind to go from parasailing flat 10knots to sheep running 17+... had a few nice jumps with the huge sailboat the went by.. couple decent ones in close for the crowds too. back in time for dinner and a margarita! nice waves off clover's west side.. Cook St Proper didn't disappoint with the low tide

That was a fantastic foiling day! Started with the 6m as the winds were not nuking. Well OP'd for the entire 1st session, but not enough to deserve a wing change. Switched to 4m to ease the damage to my arms with reduced wind pull. Learning to flag-out a bit better. Fun playing in the swells with Idefix. Just fantastic.

First spring session at Gordon's and it did not disappoint. When Dave C. and I arrived we could see the wind line and white caps way out there so we took our time getting setup. Given the low tide we parked near the windsurfer public beach entrance and walked up the beach to Tugwell rather than walking the creek. Morning SUP then first wing session on the 5m. Almost no wind to start, after about 20 minutes I almost came in to change to the light wind foil but caught absolute bomb! After that it was on. Waves were hard to find but managed get a few more beauties! Wind picked up to the point I couldn't handle the 5M so took a break and headed back out on the 3.5. By this point even that was too much. Fun times, was watching it ramp up from home. Ran into BWD who leant me a MA1000 and HA190 to try out. 1000 I love, but cant figure out the tails, it was just so nose heavy, started with the 1 degree shim, didnt like that, went to no shim, still didnt feel right. So third time back to the beach and switched back to the 230 flow. I think the Takuma board might not work with the smaller Armstrong tails - not sure. Anywho - great session once gear sorted. Epic foil fest at RB. Many peeps. Mellow with potential when I arrived. By the time I pumped the 5m, it had already upgraded to 20+ knots. By the time I was out on the 4m up and running it had upgraded to 25+ knots. Too lazy to go back in so I just stayed overpowered for remainder of session. Some of the best swells I've ever had at RB. Longest single surf ever without using wing.

Not my best session. ugh! Tried the smaller board and shorter fuse today. The board without enough wind was a painfully wobbly, fuse was fine. I forgot to start my Polar GPS watch so missed the first hour of schlogging and sitting on the board going East. Got teased out by the 2pm 12-13kts of wind. Arrived to not much, waited for awhile and it picked up to 10-12kts then it was still picking up so I headed out with my 6.2m Wing and smaller 125 litre board, floaty enough just only 67cm wide so a bit tippy as ... Arrived to foilable conditions but held for a little more wind and swell. Pumped up the 3.5 and headed upwind to catch sailing yacht Venturosa half way to Brotchie. A couple kites out at cook st. and a fun downwind back to the RB sandbox. Swells built up and some epic smoothies started to appear. Big crowd of wind enthusiasts out today over 20 wings, ~8 kites, and freestyle Marty windsurf ripping! Great day!

Things to do in the afternoon so it was up to Pipers to catch the early shift. Fun waves on the outside for my longest flagged out rides to date. Worked on tacks on the inside with a few touch and goes, can't seem to get them consistently yet with some days better than others. First day of the year with no booties! Excited for the warmer foiling conditions, it feels like they are here now.

Swell! Early start at 4 am, 6:15 sailing. Ferry was shuttering pounding into the swell. Hit Pipers on landing. Fun session with a couple mutts! Udder, Scott, Tsawwassen and me had the place to ourselves. I enjoyed the lighter off-season boat traffic (still kept my head on a swivel keeping watch). Decent sized wind swell. Udder said we had chosen a good day at Pipers! Fun watching Tsawwassen flit from swell to swell like a big orange bubble bee collecting nectar! Great way to start the trip!

Sweet session at the Pipe! Stop over on the way to long Beach, first time winging there, what a super fun spot! Some really nice playful swell outside and nice consistent winds. Great to see Udder and the local wingers. Made it to Long Beach for the evening session but couldn't make it work.

Nice to see familiar faces and even nicer that everyone was rigging small. Well powered on the 3m for the first half. Remarkably consistent intensity, like foiling behind a boat. Just "ON" all day. Arrived early (9:30am) to 12-15kts. I rigged up the 5.2m but as I was about to head out it looked lighter so rigged up the 7.0m, Good Call BOBSON!! Out for an hour with Moths and Wasps buzzing by but spending a lot of time IN the water. One guy out there was amazingly skilled, sailing at, I'm guessing, 50km/h, straight up and downwind. WOW!! Another unfortunately short flat water session, in the wraparound NW.
Was a bit of work to stay foiling in the lulls, but doable for the most part.
Those lulls started to be more prevalent, so not wanting another paddle in, cut it off after an hour or so.
