I came to the beach to find Morewind with a huge grind on his face dragging his small gear towards the water. Rigged up my 4.5 and Evo but that was too late, wind just died on the inside ( WTF ) Rigged up 5.5 and FreeWave and got rewarded with what other boys said :D :D :D

A rough start to the day - left home at 6:30 under spousal glare with babes in arms all of whom I woke up while getting ready - d'oh! Wasted time checking out K-steps. Piper's was windy right to the beach and I was fully powered on the 5.0. Major highlight was, after balking at a few good ramps, pulling off my first port forwards (X3). There's no better feeling than breaking through the fear barrier. And GWind brought me timbits! Fantastic.

Went with the 5.5 due to light wind on the inside and was powered up so then I sailed out to the big swell and joined the boys who were ripping it up. I had set my sail for the light wind inside and ended up fighting it in the 4.7 wind outside. Went back to shore to adjust it and that's when the wind pooped out and I was unable to get back out. :x

Three pleasant runs on the Seatrend (apart from a hard catapault when the rail bit after straightening out a spinout), came in for a short break and it went dead on the inside. THought the Kona would guarantee it filling in. Five-oh is too little for the big board except in the mid-20s outside. Biggest waves I think I've been in! Got to the beach, Morewind all smiles dropping his big board off and reaching for the Evo for his 5.0. Sweet! Nice surprise considering I thought we'd be lucky to sail at all. I only brought big stuff and sailed to the outside to find the meatiest, most tasty swells I've ever seen at Gordo's. Dave and Mike were slaying on their Evos getting multiple turns and disappearing in the troughs. I wish I'd had my little board to take advantage of the smooth faces. Yup, what Morewind said. Got out on the 4.5/Evo and it was super flat on the inside. Was going to settle for that until I saw Winddoc sky a big jump then huck a big endo way on the outside. Went out to middles to investigate and it turned out to be some of the best swell I have ever seen at Gordos. Big smooth faces and big port ramps. Morewind smackin waves and charging like it was his last day alive. Doc doing big backs and endos. Mattdog slashing and jumping super high. Sweeeet. 8)

Came to the beach to find Arturo getting his 4.7 some extra downhaul. Rigged up my 4.5 and Evo. It was fun.... for the first 15 min. Tried to make it work for another 15 and then decided to go for a bigger board. That worked for another 45 min or so then again 15 min of struggling. By the time I pulled 5.5 out of my van it was pretty obvious - it was over.
Fun session none the less.

Had a blast on the 4.7 at first in some nice port swell before the surface state got very funky. Finally dialled shuvits! Got to be really powered to do them well. Even more fun than loops when you get'em right! Dave had some nice ones early on when the wind was stronger. Wind backed off to 5.5 with small chop later. Fun to sail with the Law again, RD, Wingnut, Pastadude and the others at G-spot.

Got there around 2:30 and it looked good. Then it dropped so we stood around for a bit. Then it came back, rigged the 4.5 and it really came up. Sweet swell in the middle section and huge port ramps. Great for shuvits and Doc was throwing some sick ones. The good wind/swell lasted for about an hour then it dropped and got flat with holes for the rest of the session. Fun. Starboard ramps were severley lacking.

Fan-flipp-tastic!!! Arrived at 5pm, played pumpfest for an hour...got my workout and then ripped for the last hour. Went out in shorts and a rash guard as it was really nice and warm!! Good thing cause MF4 forgot his wetsuit so I leant him mine. Sailed 24kms with top speed of 42.8km/h. Went to Ross Bay pub for a couple ceasers after a GREAT session with friends!! Bang! Figure it out!! :D

Nice afterwork sesh. Good turnout of Big Gear! Tx to Bobson for the wetsuit loan! Slogging for first 45 min, watching kites at Cook rip, then the wind finally filled in below Clover. Warmed them up then went back for a half hour planing in the straps. Then it dropped again. Stayed dry whole sesh! Beer after w. Rob and Dallas, Nice!

A nice thermally driven day. Excellent little ramps to launch off/chop hop. First 1.5 hrs I had 100% success on my starboard jibes (the port still needs work....). 1.5 hrs 5.0, 2.5 hrs 5.5. No swims but a few strolls up the beach, when things got holey....

Started at noon. Didn't manage to hold that 6.2 for long & jumped on the 4.8 at 2, a bit under but made it work, nice to be on smaller gear :twisted: lotsa monkeys in the water, some on the board, coooooold today in the wind, fire going all day. Still blowing, couldda sailed with big gear til 7. Windsurfish on his 5 and 5.5 & Swiss guys out on 11m kites
