After inital "what to rig" turmoil, turned out to be a great 4.7 session with the ususal suspects on the water. Swell smoothed out as the tide rose over the reef makin for some good ramps and rideable swells.
Some sort of drama with a kayaker beign rescued by the coast guard off clover point as I was de-rigging.

I got 3 runs in on the 4.7 before it dropped off to about a 5.5.
My 6.0 retro worked very nicely (well powered up) and I enjoyed this session the most this year so far!!
I was going to go out again but my fingers were not warming up anymore and it was questionable whether I had more than 1 layer of skin left on my hands. The first half of the session was fun but gusty. Don was jumping so high today he was giving himself whiplash. Dave was shuvin' it up all day. Robin and Tom were skying some great jumps. Marathon Dave was SLAYING the reef break! NICE! After BWD et al left, the wind picked up again and the swell started to jack up perfectly for loops. Great warm day at Cook. Gusty 4.0 to 5.0 wind. Good ramps and swell for a while. Tried lots of shuvits and had a few ok ones. It sure helps being really powered up. A couple of fwd attempts in the lulls. Winddoc going for lots of backloops and shuvits. Super Dave ripping up the swell.

In LkCow felt like going west in July on Hwy 84 :P Great road conditions til Franklin Junction, even graded from Kissinger to there, the last part sucked. Lake had decent caps, water warm & fresh, got rippin at first, then nadda, then rippin'. typical frontal stuff. Nobody but Windsurfish & two Swiss kiters around. Sun, cloud, sun. Killed lake trout during my last gybe, ate it for dindin :twisted: Yum! Sail 4 Wave 1 Jump 0

Timed that wrong! Hoped for a nice lunch just-nicely-powered 5.0 session before the wind came up too much, but ended up getting hit by the gusts that were nearly 50 at Ogden around 1:30 - 2PM. First run was UP in the lulls, OP but not bad in the gusts - probably just over 30. Came in to rest and went out again and quickly realized the conditions had ramped way up. Rigged GO board & 6.0. I had about 15 mins of planing (15-18 knts)--then planing on gusts.
BWD weather station at 2:30 was registering 11.6knts when I came in. Long walk up the beach!!
I still thought about trying the Go and the 8.0 but the wind was still dropping, and I was tired of walking up the beach !!! Lots of walking today!!

Forecast of no wind was wrong! Sailed it dying, a few good runs with 5.8 and Hyfly, then slogged, grabbed the Kona and planed a few more, then rigged 7.5 (shoulda done it sooner) and just barely got planing a few times. Better than not sailing!!!! Nice visit with Rick and Pat who came down to gear caddy as I packed up. Get better soon Pat!

Seemed windy at my place so I went to check out IV at noon. Fun session. Low tide at first so I had to sail outside of the outer sandbar (only 1ft deep as I found out on my first run). Lots of wind on the outside but lumpy from the ebb. Smoothed out as the tide switched but then it was harder to stay upwind. Joined by Jose and Mf4 at the end. Great day for working on tricks and I was planing the whole time...except towards the end. Oh yeah, Kelp Reef isn't working...

Waves decent to start, then wind & waves dropped, picked up again real late. Finally gave up on Marathon ever quitting & left w/ Ruskie @~2015, tank empty 2 hrs prior. Sun, gusty wind but enough to play w/ waves, took one run 1/2 way to Pt Angeles but no better way out :roll: rollers developing out late. Blister City, two burst, worth every jump & whince :twisted: Jesus turning soft, completed triple bypass surgery today :P after only 93 days on it :roll:
