Big gear sure feels wierd after the winter sailing season. Test of 95L with new fin (thanks Gordon) and 7.5 was 'hunner' percent. :) Shared the session with Jens/Matdog... Briefly sailed the Go/7.5 but it got very squally - not fun being that overpowered.....

Tried a 6.0 in the squalls at the end of the session, but ended up swimming in through glassy waves...

Better than a bad day at work....

Just got home from a great session at JR low tide, wind 12 to 18 knots occasionaly plainable with 5.4 and 109 liter board, serious swell with some size 4 ft to logo highalthough usually a 8 to 10 minute wait for decent sets, low tide was hard on the fin but as long as I waited for bigger sets didn,t need to hit the bar, would have been perfect 12 meter kiting and with those 3inch fins no problemo on the sandbar ,had about 25 decent rides BUT was very LONELYno one else for this clearing westerly

One of these days I'll catch the S 15 knot wind! Kiters-dangling-with-no-board were out above the cliffs as I drove by. Rigged in S, it died by the time I was ready. Light W, was going to go up to visit the kites but it got lighter and they went in. A few fast planing runs powered in the straps made it worthwhile. Strongest wind was gusts in the bay almost straight off. Love the security of float + daggerboard for that stuff!

Arrived at 2pm to close to 20kts of breeze and 7 sails and 2 kites out enjoying the wind and warmth. Picked the right gear to bring spot on! Sailed for an hour and then it lightened up so came in and loosened the downhaul and outhaul and raised the boom and went back out and it was awesome!! Good to see everyone out. Interesting differing sail sizes....5.0m to 8.5m....hollow bones to fat bastard....hmmm..?? ... (more)

Meh. OK 5.5 sailing, but a 6.0 woulda been the ticket. The loooooooooooong walk back across the cobbles (very looooow tide today) encouraged "getting the most" out of the gear rather than re-rigging. Nice to get Janetfish out, as well as Aaron & Mark. Ralph & Adrian arrived later to get some of the light wind and the golden hour slog.... All told, lots of tiptoe sailing at the edge of powered up...

Way over powered when I first started about 2:15pm. I stayed out for about 40 mins and came to the shore exhausted. I rested 30 mins and started to rig the 6.0 but the conditions dropped and many wind surfers came to the shore. I was still fully loaded with the equipment I was using and well powered to the end of the session. Great first dip for this year.

Big turnout at Willows! Should have rigged 7.5 and I would have been powered, a little OP at the height. Stayed dry for 1/2 hour + and got too hot - first this year. Went out for a second light wind sesh, it went really flat (flatter that flat flat flat winddoc!) but with a weird swell from somewhere and steady 15 knots. Tried to remember 'fast tacks' for longboards. Got planing a couple of times the second sesh, again 7.5 would have been rocking.

0.40 hours Ocean Rodeo Zen 135
    Ocean Rodeo Rise 12m
First short session at home since returning from Baja.

A bit light and then even lighter.

Another good test for the new Rise 12m.

Easy self launch and landing but not used to the beach rocks and logs(where is that excavator?)yet!

    Kinda miss that Baja sand.

Smooth water but had to contend with a strong flood current.

Felt good to be back on home waters!
