    Hotsails Maui Superfreak Rasta 5.5
Hey! Why was everyone leaving? It was only 7pm!  Managed to score a quick 1/2 hr session session in super weird current/wind. Chop was good for jumping and I finally nailed another dry forward after many sessions of so-so ones and ass slappers. Seems easier on the 5.5 to get the full rotation for some reason. More whip? Tough to point with the little board/fin combo but fun! Love the solo sunset sessions.

Not necessarily the stuff of legends, but decent sailing none the less. Started out on 95L, but eventually things died a bit for that, so a 2hr FE session with a 7.5. Very nice. Golden hour was stable and left myself & Mark smling.... Forgot how much fun the formula gear is to sail!!! (100% jibe success as well  )

:D Sailed alone for the first 45 min. or so then Mark joined me and we were the only ones there all aft. I was expecting pastadude to show up, but he obviously made the right decision.

The first half of the sesh was perfect 4.7, pretty steady wind and good surface conditions even with the strong ebb tide, but it got choppy as the day went on except on the inside where there were nice swells rolling in. Unfortunately, the wind was kinda flukey close to shore making it hard to play there. Still, a fu ... (more)

One of the top 5 windiest days I've ever sailed. Struggled out through the Piper's hole with the 5.0 and 77 l. board only to get my ass whuped. Resisted coming in to re-reig for a while, but was glad I did and glad to see Ralph suited up. Then the 4.2 was getting ripped out of my hands. I'd say it was 50% fun and 50% survival. One big port back loop. Crazy.

After Watching Bobson scream past me a couple times I came back in and rigged the 8.0/GO. Mucho better. At one point the wind dropped for about a half hour but other that that had about 2 hours of solid sailing. Got a red face from the sun, time to get out the sunscreen.

Shoulda rigged the 5.8 for the wind I was in, but it was only 10 knots when I had stopped at Clover. Picked up as I rigged, and dropped off as I was packing up. Barely hanging on to the 7.5 in the gusts. Gybes a little better than yesterday. Big D and Bobson arrived as I was finishing, I stayed to watch them, hope Dallas isn't too mad at me for agreeing 6.5 and 120 litre board would be right combo! Almost a month since sailing! Ross was great, easy park/rig/launch and cruise out to the real wind beyond Clover. I'd been curious how the Kona would work with a 5.8 and it was great. Big ebb was making some nice waves. Got the Kona airborne once  hard on the ankles. Mostly just a nice smooth ride through the big chop and fast blasting across/down the waves. My gybes are crap. Wind shut off quickly at 6PM.

First session since Mexico (the cold is gone, finally!!). Ever sail and think, I should have a XXX (fill in here) board? Well, thanks to a timely delivery by Windoc, I wend from overpowered 5.0/95 to perfect 5.0/74 Evo. Thanks Chris!! As the wind crept up in power, detuning the 5.0 let me stay out for the short time I had, rather than re-rigging. Wind was still building as I left. Nice to see everyone at the board mtg!!!

A very good day and much needed  Bean with the marathon session and going for huge backloops and big fwds. Windsurfish somehow holding on to a 5.0 and doing great on his new toy. Hoping to see some new tricks from Winddoc (goiters etc), but instead just the usual backs, fwds, shuvits and smacks. Wingnut skying massive air. Mattdog ripping up the swell and doing great on his 5m. PaulL, Ozy and dunkinguy putting on a good show when we left. I had enough micro hate to try some backs and fwds in the lulls.

:D Another great day at CB, although it was hard to drag my ass out of bed at 6 am after yesterday but it was worth it. Rigged the 4.7 but should have started on the 4.0 - that place is always windier than it looks. Bean gets the keener award for his dedication. Good turnout today. Morewind I thought you were coming today- couldn't get a kitchen pass?

I could have been on a 3.5 for about an hour when the wind peaked. Ran out of gas and had to quit earlier than I wanted.

    Work can wait, wind can't:

chopped up swell, got smoother on the inside later. gusty and shifty wind

nice big swell for fast bottom turns and pseudo down the line riding. JL BW kiteboard shines in this stuff. Thanks Adrian for launching :D

 Wow, I couldn't have asked for more. 5.0 solo zen sesh for an hour at dawn then the crew rolled in and the wind picked up. Wound on the 4.2 for hours. Waves off and on but some real gems later on. One memorable jumbo back loop in the break, but still haven't sailed away from one. Caught a big sweet floater in the break by Wingnut, BWD throwing hate, Doc goin big, Ozy huckin' including one of the biggest strait airs I've seen and Mattdog working the swells with a surfboard and teeny kite. As I was ... (more)
