typical BOBSON session on my Friday off. Light wind, flat water and some pumpy-pump! hit sandbar on the way out, quick stop and over the handlebars. pretty steady wind and went way out to say Hi to a sailboat that was hugging the Sidney Island shore. Other than that, not much to say. I went an hour too long and ended up schlogging the entire last hour so cut that out of my track. Wind better than forecast so I was lucky to catch it. The 7.0 is a real session saver.

Big day at Clover. Very well powered but manageable. Lots of swell, actually went further downwind compared to my usual spot by the point. Felt really good then started getting tired and struggling. Eventually had an awkward fall and put the foil through my wing. Had enough power to foil in with 3/4 of a wing.

Tough picking rig when its 40-50 upwind? Even died after half hr of great waves? Later settled into flat 4.7/85, light inside massive smoothies but way OP out. Gybe early to avoid the slams & don't get greedy running waves w/current cuz you paid for it, huge reaches! 45min of biggest waves I've sailed here, crazy gusts & offshore wind. Not much made sense, great fun for hours then bar wind later non-existent, fighting to wobble outside.

The thought of a nuking low tide windsurf session in Boundary Bay seemed like a great idea but in hindsight I should have waited for the tide to come in and went winging. Cranking when I arrived so rigged 3.7 and made the long walk out. First reach was lit, then as soon as I hit the waves it backed off. Got an amazing wave session on 5m with my new surfboard in SE 25-30. The Firewire Vanguard made for some sweet bottom turns. After an hour playing in the waves, the wind got too uncivilized (SE 40) for my 5m. Decided to quit while I was ahead ... was so relieved to have assistance landing my kite.

Seems there was a bit of a bubble today. Sisters 44 gusting to 52 but only 15-30 at the beach. Yes, pretty gusty, too! :? Epic waves in Udderland for the first hour but then wind got too light on inside so we moved to the main bar which started working. Bubble got bigger and bigger so I thought I'd call it a day. But Eastside had just arrived so I rigged big and kept him company for a while. Waves were sure nice but that big gear is soo heavy! :|

2 sessions; one at lunch (Fail). One after 5pm. 1st session used 725, 205, 50 fuse pushed forward. Too far forward for my straps so I ended up wheely-ing and crashing while in the straps with 40+ knot gusts. Turned tail and waited until later when things mellowed. 2nd session ripped straps off and had a great session with a great crew shredding the windy/swelly playground. Willows wouldn't let me in today, so I headed off to Elk Lk with MtnarG, Gautam, and Greg. The usual gusty, changeable winds where it's hard to get into a flow. Until, I figured out that just playing the gusts, pumping the lulls, going with where the wind's going, and just staying up on foil as long as I can - just trying to meet that made for some decent flow. Forgot my hood. Tried to make do with a shell that had a hood on it. Kept my head just warm enough but poor visibility out of small opening and wind flopping of fabric in face.
Wind was gusty making it harder to drive up wind in the lulls (but enough to slog) so some walking up from down wind. Left the water before the wind and waves drop. Understand that it did come back. Got a couple of nice waves (enough to leave happy) in the short time that I was out.

Windoc and Rossbaylocal showed up so waited to see how Ryan did on his 2.5 ,he went out and made it look easy jibing and getting some good rides right away. Long hike, fun choppy waves, few decent runs on 4.7/94 but then fled from thunderheads. Sun came out, tried again, wind died. :( Sore feet.
Winds returned for a steady to mildly OP 5.3/110 sweet waves session. Slow at first but wind n wave kept amping up. Finally relented with stretched arms after an hr. Right back to 4.5 conditions. Cuts in feet. Didn't have another gear swap/hike in me, lonely too. Lovely sun, turquoise Maui water, smooth waves were great, thank you Gaia!

Launch at 9am and over-powered for 1/2 of the session. Strong SE continued to amaze with the odd rain squall. Some fresh sand on the beach and some massive swell left over from the blustery over-night. Used the 1Km marker as a wind block for awhile. A pod of Grey whales later turned up there as it started to turn South. Decided to end it.

Surprised I was the first to arrive. 4.1 lasted for one reach off the beach. Mega gusts made it too hard to hang on. 3.7 was great at first then it started to be a bit more gusty. At one point I couldn't waterstart and figured I would have to swim in. I switched to the 99 for insurance. As an aside I can't believe the wind you can sail that board in. Not great in really light wind but that makes sense. Big swell outside and great sets inside. Top day!

Got there at the tail end of the storm should have listened to Tunacan and gone with the 5M but decided on the 4M although with some pumping I could foil but as the wind died became harder and harder so went in and got the 5M much better. Waves looked much better than they were, not very steep, not much power and lumpy . Waves started to get better at the end but wind dropped off quick.

Nuclear gnar in the usual play spots, so I hit Elk Lk with MtnarG and Greg. We put in from North beach and Greg was going 4m so I went 5m to satisfy my pumping laziness. It was the usual Elk (Gust) Lake wildness. With holes and gust patches moving around playing with your foiling mind. I quit after an hour as the winds reduced. It wasn't great foiling, but it was definitely kinda ok. Regardless, time spent on foil is seldom wasted.....

Watched the wind nuke all day as I was working. Felt like I got lucky on the timing as I arrived and it was sunny, 20ish kts and good swell still running. Rigged the 5m as I knew it would be dropping fast and jumped on it. John K and WindJunky quickly joined me with Ross Bay Local following after. Got about 50 mins till it dropped. Windjunky was still doing well out there when I left.

Usual spots were too narly for me. Decided to try Elk Lake. Arrived to very little wind intermixed with big gusts. The wind picked up while I was there. Played with the W1100 mast position with little success.
