Arrived to disbelief it was 3.7/85 so rigged 4.2, way OP at times esp outside, crazy gusts & holes. Tough sailing & huge full onshore waves for here to start. Felt like LongBeach on a bigger day with 5 sec period leaving the beach, mega douche caution! Haven't seen that here nor the squirrel rotors ending, catching last waves w/Hiho. On/off switch!
Sail 8 wave 11 to 8 jumps involuntary mostly.

Fun times rigging with it ramping up to 40knot gusts.. wanted to try the new to me 8m Roam and it didn't disappoint.. borrowed a bar that was outta tune a little long on a steering line... loads of swell out with the quick ramp up it was a little confused.. able to slash a few right off clover and then headed into Cook st proper for some reef waves that were really nice! good fish and chips at the beagle afterwards.

17:00, I concur with all other RB logs. Glorious sunset session indeed! White caps and breaking swell. Tiny wings in tights running down goat hill. Open #4 bag, right color wrong bag !!*&%!. Ridiculously overpowered with a 5.0 for the first 45min then only mildly OP for the rest of the session. Lots of wind and wings.
My precious Cab 5 has grown half a size :/

I dream of when I am am able to see what experienced, tuned-in riders like Chris C can see out on the water when he ominously predicts dynamic wind conditions just before heading out. Understatement of the year. He saw what I couldn't.
Started on a 4m and immediately strained my shoulder with getting thrown around by the wing. Went back out on a 3m. Better but I still had a really hard time. The wind was really gusty and there seemed to be a lot going on underneath the water. Currents maybe? Not sure wha ... (more)

I was first to the party. Wind was only 10 knotts so rigged big. After 1 run it jumped to 20+. Came in and rigged down. Got a few more runs and had to rig down again to my 3m. Finally had the right setup but ran out of time. Still a fun session and getting more consistent jibes.

Frustrating start with a new harness line that had a stubborn loop in it. Gave up and came in and swapped it out. Good power on the 2.8 and some fun swell to ride. Lots of people out and got to witness the sickness of the doctor launching off some ramps. Started to fade eventually and called it instead of rigging up to the 4.

Power hour! Got there just before 6. Lots of wingers in the bay. Rigged the 5M, and as I was walking down to the water I saw WindDoc do a HUGE air, so was fired up to push myself a little. Nailed a couple tacks both toe and heelside right away, and then failed about 10 in a row which was pretty frustrating... eventually got them back a little more consistently. Showed up a bit late to the party so only managed an hour on the water. Conditions were good if a bit gusty. Lots of good ramps on the windward side of clover but didn't feel as lofty as I expected given the amount of bar pressure. Finally came off the water warm as opposed to freezing which may be a function of twin tipping as opposed to foiling.

Bit by bit getting more confidence going faster in the straps and jumping. Pretty lit up at times. Highest hops so far on the wingding. Really kind of cool using the foil to pop/amplify the jump from a wave, but the timing is crucial. Absolutely loving the new KT wings. One outside jump felt "windsurfing jump high" but I crashed it. Crazy wind day. Main session was unfortunately too similar to last session but more extreme (WSW competing with WNW for territory with holes in between). Rigged at the crack of dawn and met somewhat ok conditions in the bay. Suuuuper gusty. Started on 160 for a little bit then hopped on to the 99... got frustrated so back to the 160 till the tide was too low lol. Practice practice I guess. Over all good session. Starting to get the hang of riding on small swell so that's good. 29cm on the 99. 42cm on the 160.

First 30 minutes were frustrating, swimming around, regretting taking break from work. Then the wind kicked and I quickly forgot about work. Tried an Alan Cadiz water start today. I can't quite do it the way he does, but it's going to work a lot better once I get back to using footstraps and will try a harness now. Made my first Heineken jibe today, that was slick, but other attempts ended badly.

Fun session. Some glossy swells outside and nice solid wind all day. Inside swell never really did much but was pretty fun. Good to see the few remaining diehards. Not like the old days out there. Only 6 windsurfers out. 3 epic blood blisters to show for it. Love it!

Watching rugby on tv and saw IV shoot up to 10-13kts. headed to IV, looked good upwind and thought it would get windier but it didn't. I should have rigged the 6.0m but wanted the easy ride on the 5.2m. dumb, dumb, dumb. Not much else to say. I should have rigged bigger. Better than nothing with that 0-5kt forecast. Tomorrow looks really good. Home in time for Ice Cold Corona's. YES!!

Nobody out. Surf ski Greg was rigging so I followed him around for 3 laps practicing tacks upwind working the swell downwind. Then SamIam and a kitefoiler came out to play. Nice sunset fojl. Thanks for the fojlable tip Wingdoc!
