First on and almost last off the water. Started on the 8m CWC, then switched to the 5m X3. Not enough power, so switched to the 6m. OK for a while but wind died a bit, so went back the the 8m for the rest of the day. It was awesome!

Remember when there was a day of nice clean wind after a wind storm day? Today was not that clean wind day. Off and on mostly Easterly, felt good with 4.2m wing in the gusts , but the rest of the time I was standing around waiting . Was I on foil for 1/2 the TOW? The 1650 foil feeling fast when I was on it.

With the yellow/green forecast for PL along with a light wind OSR from South Island, I drove north to Pipers. Thank you, Bobson!
Noon, light rain, 19 kts reported at Entrance Island. Nils was packing up from his windfoil session, so I got fresh info on the mornings conditions. Side on! White caps at the beach. Multi figure 8's with Udder on a sweet wave, bit too close :) Sunny, warm!

Should have rigged the 4.5 and gone out right when I got there, instead I rigged 3.5 thinking it was only going to get better. It did not. Had fun on the beach for a few hours then it finally came up enough for a short session before dark. Nice swell at least.

Started out light around 14kts so rigged the 12m and set up my foil. Got to play in the swell getting use to how the foil acted in those conditions. Wind came up and switched out the foil for the surfboard, managed to lose another centre fin..ugh. A fun session and nice to see so many familiar faces out.

Lacked the oval objects to launch yesterday in 35kts at IV so happy to get a session in today. Fairly steady wind on the 4 for an hour then it started to drop and I milked it in. Really fun just playing in the small shorebreak rights. Could have re rigged up but called it and chatted with Richard, Mike, Stefan and John L as it continued to drop.

Was hoping not to inflate the 6.5 today but oh well. Was looking like another disappointing SE. Threw stick for Jupiter for half an hour then rigged up and rolled the dice. Worked out this time. Best wave rides yet. Even felt the wing backwind from ahead on the waves for the first time. No gybes again, the turn definitely feels a lot different with the progressive back foil. Just need a moderate day to figure that out.
Nice turnout if wangers. The bright orange KT wing looked good and fast!

Arrived to 10-13kts, I thought it would continue or increase so rigged the 5.2 instead of 6 or 7. Got 1 foiling run then came in and ate a sandwich and a coffee. Wind picked up to 10-15kts so headed back out on the 5.2m. It was good for 30-40 mins then completely shut off. Schlogged back in and waited 20 mins, no change so called it and thought ai'd head to IV as it looked good on the cam, decided to wait for tomorrow. Good call as it also shut down. Glad I got there early b/c the afternoon wind never arrived. Finally got a full proper session on my Tiki board and it was a lot of fun. It only needs a small power stroke to get up and riding and it can shoot upwind really nice. It is so long and wide that it feels like I have a dance floor under my feet. Although a low wind and flat water board, It had no problem with the medium swell and chop at IV. I didn't have the guts to take it into the shore break waves. All in all a fabulous session..

Confused seas and wind for the first hour. Second hour wind ramped up and cleaned things up a bit. Swell rolling in around Clarke Rock was larger that normal for pipers. Started on the 7.0 and changed to 5.2 half way through. Nice to see idefix. Packing up when he showed up. Next time.

10mins in I'm finally warming up and go for a stupid little jump off one of the largest swells in the middle of the channel and crash my kite.. it gets engulfed by the same 30ft wave and explodes.. the lines snap in tension and must've damaged the safety line.. of course I attempt to release the safety and it flies away.. able to grab my board behind me on the gnar swell...
luckily Jemerson is near by saw what happened and was able to assist.. I could've been lost at sea!

What a day! Intense at first sailing with John in 40+ knots. Still went for a few jumps, one turned into a back loop as the wind just pushed me around. Was feeling out of shape and found it hard to get comfortable. My front strap was too tight so I loosened it but not enough. Back strap was too loose and that was a bad combo. Went for a jump near the end and my back foot came out and my front foot didn't. Landed flat and the board kept going. Can't walk today.

I'm going to log this for posterity points and the "giving it a good old college try"...whatever that may be. Arrived to a still potentially wingable session, quickly rigged up the 4m as everyone was coming off the water. It was supposed to die quickly and it did. Waited for an hour for the wind to pick up to 15kn to get on the water while waiting for 'the spike'. Out on the HS1550 and 6m for an hour when it hit. Changed to the 4m and 1250, got one good run in and then it dropped. Finally getting things dialed.

First day back from 3 weeks surfing with the family in Costa Rica and it was a big one!! Stopped by Clover on my way home from work to see Windoc shredding as per usual, while Tweezer, BWD, Grant, and Oak Bay Local watched it nuke. Looking Pretty gnarly out there, so I took my time went and had lunch and got my gear. Came back, still 40+ jeez. RBFC crew out there tho! 5.0/94 worked nicely, 2hrs of lawn mowing, odd fun lumps but nowhere near advertisemt. Lully the word, finally shutting down. Photog left :( Hiho arrived, tried big gear after a longer wait w/sun & rainbows, next thing we get bigger onshore 'it's-over' moguls from big winds down south. Except they lasted for an hour+ of 110/baggy 5.0 fun. Bizarre but glad I stuck around! Except for overrotated backie torquing my foot :/

With Willows too big, we headed to Elk for some fresh water fun. There was plenty of wind, bigger than I had ever winged at Elk. It was the usual fickle wind with lots of gusts, lulls, and wind direction changes. Nice to be able to foil in the challenging conditions while being relatively safe for newbs. Got lots of long flights and a few crashes in the cold lake water. Terrifying fun.

Got to the teahouse at 10 just in case the wind forecast was correct. Ended up having to wait until 1130 to get foilable winds for a newb. NE 12-17 once I got in and did a few easy laps of teahouse to MTI. At about noon, winds shifted to SE and I got hit by some pretty big gusts. Mellow conditions changed to angry 2ft swell and 25-35kts. Cab6 was way overpowered and I was hard-pressed to foil back to teahouse from CP.
