Getting my bearings. Got the text that wind was ramping up - thanks Tsawwassen! Arrived at the peak of the wind to find Big John and Tsawwassen already out and Mike rigging. Chatter on the beach was it was "windy'! Big John was on 4.0 and he said, "That never happens!", with a heart warming grin! First big day on the Phantasm, handled fantastic. If only I had a 2m wing to go with it. Lots of time spent looking out from the beach then finally lured out by Winddoc and BWD.

As advertised ... epic session. Never thought I'd be overpowered on my 5m ... but it nuked SSE 35+ for the first half of the sunny afternoon. It was survival kiting for me but Francis looked nice and comfy on his 4m+surfboard.
After a quick break, the latter half of the afternoon (mainly sunny) was just right for my 5m+surfboard ... steady SSE 30+ over clean breaking waves with smooth sections. Called it quits when it got darker and disorganized.

Left the house and Trial was SE14, arrived at Clover to 40. Good forecasts today. Had to huddle on the beach until it dropped a bit, with only Winddoc and Chomik brave enough to go out. Had some super fun S turn rides on the outside XL swells. Lots of fun but challenging for sure. Most improved sailor award goes to TunaCan...no one can like tuna can.

Arrived just as Mark A guinea pigged the conditions on a 3.5. Quickly became apparent a full meter smaller would be more appropriate. I went out next and barely managed to stay upright, getting slapped around by BIG liquid smoke gusts. Not exactly a speed session for me dealing with the chop and getting shoved around! Should have kite surfed on 4m. It was blue sky and great waves from noon, only started raining around 4. Missed opportunity. Sane conditions tomorrow.

No idea how windy it actually was but the 3m was wild out of control in the main wind. Tried new 'progressive' 400 rear wing and its amazing how much the rear wing affects the feel. Feels exactly how it looks like it'd feel: straighter, faster, sharper. Couldn't get my gybes down but maybe mostly the conditions with gusty wild wind.

Parabolic session. How do you rig for that kind of wind curve? Started on the 6.3 way underpowered but anticipated a steady increase. Shlog for 25, shlog and plane for 20, plane to way overpowered for 15. Came in and rigged the 4.8 and changed boards. Proved to be too optimistic for 30 then wind veered off. Victoria charts look interesting.

Fun skimming through the shallows on the TT, glad I brought my own harness and avoided bruised ribs like last time.
13.5 got to be a handful as it gusted close to 20knots, off the water before cramps and the lull. 20+ kites out and zero Wingdings.

Felt my most recent soccer injury twinge after an hr and called it a day, surprised I got even that. Hands were brutal today, hot showered them twice. Checked out SP for the first time at about 1pm and didnt seem to promising on arrival even tho reports and forecast said otherwise. I decided to rig up anyways in hopes it would pick up. Seemed pretty choppy with not alot of constant wind, just powerful gusts! stayed near the shore and practiced beach/water starts and got up! once...lol. Mabey not the best spot on the beach (right of the sp cam) to practice? ill try other spots next time.

Noon, mainly cloudy, 16 kts at Entrance Island, 12 to 14 at the beach. Drysuited with PFD for this cold session. I played the swell south of Clark for the first half then left the safety of the bay for more consistent wind inside Hudson Rocks. Overpowered at times with the 6.2, it made for fun speed runs. Stronger winds returned to the bay in late afternoon where I entertained friendly sea lions for another hour.
My new NRS mitts work especially well when flushed with warm water.

After almost 5 days straight with no wind, we finally got a little this afternoon. It was a bit light for wing foiling so some of my friends decided to kitefoil. I got to use the new 8m Strike CWC and it did not disappoint. I had a great 1.5 hours on the water. Some of the other wing foilers on the water were not so lucky.

Pleasantly surprised to see wind at the Willows webcam today. Got in about 11am with Gus just having exited the fray. I was about to jump in with a Cab5, but Gus quickly steered me towards going bigger, and rightly so. It was tough slogging for a newb like me to get past the shore break. I eventually made it to a nice wind line between CP and MTI. Actually felt warmer than I expected despite the light dusting of snow we got in the early morning. GoPro captured 21 min on foil - progress for me!

Arrived to 6kts gusts maybe to 10-12. I figured I was there already and pump practice would be a good workout. Well, the first 5 mins was exactly that but then it picked up and was mostly 12-18kts in the amazing sunshine with lots of boats racing around the buoys right off the 2nd boat launch ramp. Lots of tide going through. Almost perfect wind for the 6.0m Flyer FR as it likes 12-15kts. Great session at Parker with Mike, Landen and Tom. Thanks again Mike great spot in a North East wind. Much lighter than forcast but was still fun flatwater sailing tried out my knew watch thanks to Bobson ,since I had it on in flatwater was trying to go as fast as I could max speed was 27.7km/h ,not to bad with my big slow foil. Got to Agate Lane around noon stoked on the forcast and it was still pretty calm. looked like it was goin to pick up so i thought a 6.2 would be good thinking it would pick up quick... shoulda rigged the 7.5 :( Pretty disappointed there wasn't more wind but i guess there's always next time. Andrew was out there winging at least he looked like he was having a blast haha. Oh well, had to make the most of it.. Next time will rig bigger or find a better spot that still favors onshore conditions.

Sunny session in before the freeze!
Noon, Tea House. Looked light in the bay. I could see Ang, Greg and Bobson foiling on big wings. Put in on Mantis 6.2 and 1750cm and sailed up to CP. It picked up by the point. Overpowered at times and could feel the drag from the foil. Reduced foil to 1200cm, which jazzed up the afternoon nicely. Played in the wind tunnel by the point for most of the session.
Reach Run Repeat, worst things to be doing today ; )

Opted for Parker to try out Mike B beauty spot with him, Windjunky and later Mr.T. Pretty light in the lulls on the 5.5 but made in work. Not much kelp and lots of sunshine. Tried 3 heel side tacks for the first time and got around on 2 of them with touchdowns. Practiced riding downwind goofy foot too.
