Sailed Aloha style in Sunny skies, but spent almost .5 of 2.5 hours of initial water time stuck at area 59 ( west side of inlet) on my Carve 99 in 8 to 11knots. The water is very warm & I felt kinship with all the swimmers taking dips to cool down. ( One young lad spent the full 75 minutes of happy hour swimming and practicing headstand off the campsite beach)

By 3pm the sailing was gusty but pleasurable on Floatie Mr Roberts and fun for most everyone else too. People were sailing up to 7:30pm an ... (more)

Used numerous combinations of gear on three separate sessions. Was able to ride the 3.5 m in relatively modest conditions (~15 kts) with the 88L and HA1125. It was just a question of getting going, then riding the apparent wind is no problem. Quite an interesting range on that wing, although on Wed it was overpowering in conditions getting close to 30 kts.

I finished my chores and headed to RB hoping for a suppertime flight. Bobson was just coming in from his endurance fest and gave me is best tips. I headed out and was eventually able to lift beyond CLover. Still pretty light and lots of pumping required to stay on foil. Got a few foiling runs, but it was just too much work for limited joy. I spotted Sharky (Shaggy) slogging towards CLover. It was definitely time to go. Sharky had a hunting-for-alum mast- look about him....

Third session, used the schools 10m Dice. The Dice flies well, I had no trouble handling it. After two or three sitting down tacks I started to jib from heel to tow, and continued to cross the lake on my toe side. I was able to tack upwind to the hidden bay with not much difficulties. I was able to make some nice carving turns. Great time on the lake, and I think I feel now more and more comfortable with a surfboard with straps. Next, let's remove one strap, lets see how that goes.

Second session, got the 7m NEO SLS from the school. The wind dropped a bit, and I was not able to make it work with the 7m. I did stay upwind, but I struggled to gain any ground. The 7m is very sensitive to any inputs, and it was getting just a bit too light for me on a 7m.

Used my sisters 9m NEO SLS in this first session, and the Dakin surf board. Of course I was struggling in the beginning, but after I tacked up a bit I started to use heel to toe jibs and continued to tack upwind. I was a bit overpowered and went in to change to a 7m NEO SLS.

Great session, great success of the surfboard.

Good breeze at Turkey Pt felt like a repeat of yesterday. Happy to send a 'Game On' OSR to the OGs. Got on it early with Gee. Onshore wind produced the classic RB swell lines. Wind was a bit up and down but the swells kept on rolling in. Some skating required at times to stay on foil but plenty of wave energy to save the jibes. All was good till BWD and Windjunky arrived to turn the fan off.

    Good times:)

On the water at 2pm but wind didn't freshen up till 2:45. Floatie McRoberts and 6.0M wasn't enough till close to 3pm nor was it for the evening slog. Excepting from 3 - 5pm there was less wind than Wed or Thursday. Kite school was busy and four kiters did a downwinder from Franklin Crk and they had fun. There's a good vibe in general here with a nice mix of sailors, fisherman, families, seniors and kids.

I met Chris and Rob here learning to Wing. We raced together at Nimpkisk in 1987 organized ... (more)

Was concerned that the wind may die, used the 13m Juice. Should have used the 12m from the school. Great session, went upwind to the bay, then carved down wind with heel to toe jibs, riding toe side then carving toe to heel. Next, do the same with the surf board.

I am a bit ticked, the watch did not record my session' this is now th3e third time' Not sure what the issue is.

Decided this was last day, not motivated to kite or sail, finally dragged 4.2 out after it seemed to be getting interesting. By time I rigged & took 2 UP runs it was back to 5.0/94. Even that didn't last, couldn't face another 5.9 session so packed up

Fun enough but no need to try again this year

Out with the weekday crew in pretty light conditions. Got up on the small board and foil and booted around or a bit but eventually fell and couldn't restart as it had gotten lighter. Good debrief on the beach after so enjoyable afternoon either way.
