Yes! Thats exactly what I bought the board for!!!!!!! One of my most fun sails ever I think. Almost didn't bother to go out it looked so light, but after watching dinghys moving OK I figured it was worth a slog. Pleasant hour spent tacking up to the yacht club then reaching back, trying to stay clear of the racers. Last run in (not, as it turned out), the wind suddenly increased, popping me up on a plane. Had another 45 minutes of pump-to-plane to fully powered blasting, gybing by Cattle Point then over by Jemmy Jones. Really steady wind for about 10 or 15 minutes, it was gusty the rest. It started to die off and I came in, Kus arrived while I was packing up. It kept dropping so he didn't bother.
The board gybes quite nicely when powered. Made a couple of decent carve gybes, didn't plane out of any. Mast grabs and stable platform saved a bunch more, I'm calling it the "Kona drysuit". I even fell in on one gybe, but landed on booms/sail, and just rolled back onto the board without getting wet!
Wahoooooooo!!!!! Blasting along in the winter sun, solid in the straps I was wondering where were the other board sailors? The wind came up so quickly then dropped after 45 min that there wasn't time to see it, drive down, and rig with a small board. But the Forumula guys could have been out. What are you all doing'? With 10 metres you would have been blasting in the little puffs earlier, and having some big adrenaline rushes at the end!
