Wind was surprisingly steady in the bay and Cook St still scares me. Tried a small old board that I had kicking around. Shortly after launching I noticed I was sinking the board a little more than I remembered, then the mast base blew apart. Upon further inspection the board has a number of cracks, and the old mast base is pretty much shot (Is the board supposed to bubble when I sink it?). Time for a newer board, something that I can uphaul on, but smaller than my behemoth. Spring is here, time for new gear!
