The wild SE wind are here! This one was good on the west coast. Typically it is pissing down rain and crazy gusty. Today was steady and not much rain. Good day for giving a windsurf lessons, Got one of my students the taste of strong winds and an intro to harnessing. She was stoked! The boat launch in Ukee is actually a doable spot. Just a big Nimpkish style wind shadow near shore.
After lesson, met Dave B from Comox checking out the spot. He was stoked to get out there and practice winging. I grab my wing too! did about 6 reaches and had the wing pop! I guess that can happen... It was wearing thin on the leading edge. It was an old hand me down proto type that definitely seen a bit of use, maybe 2 years old. Luckily I was close to shore.
Wind was still cranking, so I rigged the Race gear for some phlat water blasting! Epic speed runs. It left the barking sealions speechless.
