Went to Maui for my brother's wedding...which meant not many chances to sail plus the wind was only sailable 2/7 days.
I started off at Lowers...I am not sure at this point why people sail down there. I think b/c the swell was so big it was just closing out, combine that with some up and down wind...anyway I had a pretty good swim.
Regrouped my thoughts and went where I should have been the entire time...UPPERS!!!! Uppers was easily logo to mast high with solid 5.0 wind. No big airs or backs or anything exciting just good old fashioned wave riding in big breaking surf. Pretty unbelievable. I ran into Randy and he said that it was double mast high at Hookipa.
The wind came back yesterday but I was leaving and couldn't go out...who cares...Sunday was the best waveriding of my life!
