After this mornings defeat, I had to get back out and test the 699. Wind switched WSW and the tide came back up around 5 so I handed back out for round 2. Was over powered on the 5M KT but that 699 is fun! Felt unstable for the first few reaches then I started to figure it out. Cranks turns and made the small waves super fun. Lots of speed on the wave, I braced myself for a crash a few times but it didn't happen. It was harder to crank up wind but lots of speed down wind and it felt great sailing switch, probably because I was so over powered. I thought it would be hard to get going when the wind dropped but it pumped up onto the foil really easy. I was worried about my big board and big wing with such a small foil but it felt fine, actually made my big board feel small. Looking forward to many more session on it!
