Much better than expected. Some nicely spaced shoulder high swell out there. The incoming tide must help with that. Lots of east in the wind so the entire bay was useable. Unfortunately I arrived with a headache, but a couple breaches escalated it quickly to migraine of the year. Got of the water saying to the family "we have to go now!" Horrible packdown and hour long winding drive home. Long night, will be a few days to recover from that one.
First time really testing the 800 in swell. Still mast shopping, I think speed and glide will win over weight. The 800 got up easily even in on the inside. Nowhere near the glide of the 1000 but so light under the feet, goes upwind pretty well, and can handle a lot more power both wind and swell. Upwind speed and efficiency becoming more critical, hopefully a 93cm kraken will improve that. Probably need a new wing too, really interested in the North Mode. But might keep the strikes for downwinders.
