Outflow all morning, turned at 2pm but then died at the campground and looked windier upwind. So I was needing my fix so decided to schlog upwind to see if I could get to it. Not the best idea. Stu from Courtenay and Rupp-Dogg (just visiting) Sat and watched. As I went out there was actually zero wind, so I gently pumped the sail for a few mins to reach the 1-2 kts. An hour later 1/2 way up from he inlet I found an 11 kts gust. Pumpx10, foil for 30-60 seconds, drop down, gust gone, repeat. Probably got 10+ runs even making a couple of gybes while foiling but just barely. Last 30 mins was schlogging back to the beach. Foiling with Stu's F-18 Hobie Cats was great! Those things were ripping in the 5-10kts. The have really big jib's which helped. Rupp-Dogg sitting on a log when I returned to the beach and made the smart decision to beat it and not wait till Monday. Well played Rupp!! First time all this summer and last that I was shut out. Lesson learned.
