Launched from Pipers Lagoon at 2:50 after visiting with morning session foiling sailors incl Kerry & Bro and a Hand kiter who was towing a J24 back to Shuswap. Opted for the longboard with a dieing wind forecast and marginal planing conditions. But the 120 liter and 8m setup likely would of worked in and around the compression areas of Pipers Point or N of fish huts near Neck Point.
Hammond bay winds are slightly steadier than Pipers beach and made for nice cruising incuding time sparring with a man on an 11ft Topper sailing dingy. Also sailed into the Lagoon for a bit of fun where earlier Mr Mackm... was practicing his hand kiting from a Davidson D9 dingy. Right on!!!!!
Hazards at Hammond Bay are the shoals and shallows around the fish huts. Goof fun sailing overal despte not planing, ( And Hammond gets a small but nice swell at 20 knots )
If the Canadian flag at S. Hamond bay beach could feed the M2 data model and it could predict with knowledge of Pipers dominant back eddy that might help the model predict conditions for performance sailing.
I was off the water at 5pm. The wind finally died out between 5:30 & 6pm
