Looked promising for a light wind session so I pumped the 14.5m Flite and reached for my "non-lethal foil alternative" (tm) (aka Tiki). I self launched and it felt good but it did feel like maybe too much kite. Nontheless, I grabbed the Tiki and went off the windward side and for sure I probably could have been on a 12m but the Flite is well behaved and so with 3/4 depower I headed out. I had a nice 25 minutes of cruising on the Tiki and was super well supported on the big kite for tack turns, of which I made many. I came in and switched to the surfboard and again enjoyed some really nice reaches as the sea was flooded but not too confused, it even flattened out a bit as the wind backed off mid-session. I eventually needed to apply full power on the big kite and thought about heading in if the wind might die. Happily, it did not die, in fact it came back a bit and I felt well powered and that I had made the right kite size choice for the day. I had all of the sea between Clover and Finlayson to myself for the whole session, save for the anchored boat with the big Canada flag on it's mast. It was really peaceful and pleasant today. I am glad for it, another wonderful summer day of kiting.
