13 days in a row of wind foiling and my hands are feeling it.....like raw meat :) Pipes are feeling strong!
Nailed 80% of my jibes today. Loving my 'new to me' windsurf foil board that we picked up at Winddance in Hood River end of May/24. Today was my fifth session on it (North Pacific board) and our daytrip to Nitinat last Sunday really helped me dial in riding this board. It's a bit shorter than my Starboard Supercruiser, but, easier for me to handle carrying to the beach alone. I am addicted to the foil and being able to ride in a range of wind 12 knots to 30+ knots....just rig different sails for the conditions. I love foiling beside (18 yr old son) Sam and Rob (ws247) kiting out there too. Wingers, kiters and (on most days) just one windsurf foiler (unless Bobson is here!). Still in shock from the unexpected passing of our good friend, John Douglas, who was instrumental in helping develop Canal Beach into a public access park. I hear his voice in my head to 'keep going' and 'you can do it!" while jibing or riding on my s turns in the inlet. Soon .... I will pump up my wing and start fumbling around on that...one day soon ...it's just so hard to be a beginner again, when the windfoiling is so smooth, fast, zen-like and fun:) Thankful to have wind sports as our lifestyle!
