Windsurfing Wave SUP's -

Many O' SUPer hath experienced rail devastation due to very minor mast hits. They are definitely not built the same as a windsurf board, and thus my reason for abstaining from ever buying a SUP board with a mast track again - tired of repairing them! Do your research and see how others have fared when their mast whacketh thine rail.

Hey Kus,

I have last years 146L Fanatic Allwave SUP, 146L, 8'10"x31"...on the left in the pic.

I do suck in waves, but found it stable enough that I could sell my woody Whopper, (10'x34" and 176L which looks a heck of a lot bigger in the pic). I don't think I've ever been in good waves so that may be the problem......PS I hear there are good waves in Oregon?

Also, I got the basic construction (High Resistance Skin version) for the Allwave which is bombproof for $1,199 US from Gorge Surf Shop. It does not feel that heavy to me. Only paid GST/PST on the $400 excess over the $800 exemption.

And the 8'10" works fine for me in flat water too. Not fast but pretty stable.

btw I was pretty fat in the summer on the Allwave....180-185lbs....am back down in the low 170's....will probly make a big diff.

Fanatic makes some really nice 9' and all the way up to a full 14' race board and more in their red color the premium version that can be sailed also, not sure if the race board can be sailed though, but the rest have an insert for a one screw mast base. I have a C4 9'3" sub vector isup used once, I love that fanatic and nick baker has actually made isups that we can actually just screw a mast base into and go sailing, no worries about mast hits etc. Yes! I want one of those fanatic isups that can be sailed also.

Been wave SUPing a bit.

Bought the smaller brother to my 8'10" AllWave.

7'11" x 31" Fanatic AllWave, 110L, tri or quad fin set up

Took it out in flat water yesterday. Paddles not bad for 110L. I could rip around and not fall in. Turns quick!

Tony - don't freak as it is so wide and not a Starboard "pro" shape and yes you have to stand on the tail to make it turn....but not all of us are pros and this one was only $1399US.

And it has a windsurfing bung hole. Fits in a windsurfing bag?

Ray is gonna demo it at SP today.

Not sure if Kieth is ready for a 29" wide 110 ltr SUP. I know I'm not and he's got 15 lbs on me! Was surprised how well he could paddle it after only using it yesterday for the first time. After trying his 110 today there is going to be a bit of a learning curve to go through. Kieth's 110 seemd impossible to paddle for me at first today. After trying for a half hour I was able to get around on it with out falling off. Tried his 140 next and it seemed huge. With a sail on the 110 it was a different story. Loved the feel of the board. Turns on a dime and even made a heli in 5 knots of wind. Fun Board I want one!
