#!@%!!!! Broken Slot Box
Well damage was worse then originally suspected fin punched through the bottom of my box, so looks like surgery time... No money for a new board.
Step 1 - finding a replacement slot box, easier said then done, especially because every company is allowed to manufacture them.2

just 1 hour south of Blaine.
That took me way too long, but I'm finally done <a href="/http://winddude.com/2017/04/21/board-re ... >replacing the broken slot boxes with US boxes.
Some pics and description of my repair on my blog, HERE.
let's hope there's some wind soon so I can test it.

Fins
Hey Lawrence,
Whaddya think of the serrated Piranha fins by Makani?
I just ordered one for my Tri fin.
Makes me think of the wavy edged, "magne-traction" on my Lib-Tech skis.

Re: Fins
Haven't tried them yet, supposed to be stiff and powerful. This set is custom asymmetrical by stokeometer and a probably some cb rocks, so I'll see how they are.KC7777 wrote:Hey Lawrence,

Makani Piranha
I just bought a Piranha "serrated" centre fin for my 96L Fanatic FreeWave Tri.
I have all Makani fins now for my Tri.
Hoping to get out to Nitinat to sail soon to try them out.
PS -- selling stock Fanatic Tri fin set up...a 19 cm MFC centre fin (power box) and two MFC 12 cm side fins (slotbox).

You've missed me. I can tell. I have missed you too.
It's been a good winter (finally)...lots of snow and no Scando cold fronts. I'll be back here on bwd for a few months anyways.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Boards seems good, maybe a tad tail heavy, but being a technoria construction it was always a bit heavy. The makani Parinha fins seems nice, smooth, and powerful. I would definitley recommend them a big improvement over the stock drake fins.
