Nitnat Lake

Unread post by Cpt_Mire »

Afternoon!

just booked a few days in late June at Nitnat camp site to give myself a few consistent days of wind to learn how to put my winging abilities in order.I can rip around with a wing on a skateboard, I can foil behind a boat, now to put it all together. I was wondering if they have a rescue boat at the lake or am I in for a walk of shame kind of thing. Thanks for any advice in advance.

There isn't any real current, just swim/walk.

Easiest is the reverse walk - walk up to the river and launch there. Make sure you come back just below the old boat launch in that bay. Or use the stump as your reference.

The walk from below the last point is awful - no real way to get back without walking through the village or swimming gear around the marina and the shore below the village is full of sharp stuff.

You could ask elevation for a rescue in advance - they call it a supported something or other but it is pricey - really a once a trip emergency thing.
