Nitinat road conditions 2025
Nitinat road conditions 2025
Hey everyone,
The family and I are thinking of heading to nitinat lake with our truck and 18 foot camping trailer. I haven't been in quite some time so have a few questions...
1) how is the road this year? Is it reasonable to attempt the drive with the truck and trailer or will that be a disaster?
2) How long will the drive (from Victoria) realistically take?
3) are the sites big enough for this setup?
Thanks!
Mitch

Re: Nitinat road conditions 2025
1) road is fine, just go slow
2) the Youbou to camp could take 90min plus
3) depends on the site, but most are fine

Re: Nitinat road conditions 2025
Quite some time? How long ago is that? You do want to reserve a site, most sites would fit a trailer like that but not all, they can switch you if not….unless it’s all full. Which it will be soon….
Usually an hour but if you are towing at 30km guess it could be 90 min. Taking two spares for the trailer is always a good plan, E rated for the truck.

As Kus said: If you do not have a reserved site, you wont be able to stay. (unless something is available).
Make sure to log on their website and see if anything is available. They might be all booked.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback and tips. We have a booked site and they confirmed yesterday with me that we should fit in the site we have booked.
I will look into getting a second spare tire for the trip.
The last time we were there was in 2018 and we've been doing the gorge/China Creek instead in recent years. I'm very excited to be back at Nitinat!
