Got to try the gloves yesterday in 4-5C weather. I think these may be the real deal! After the session i had to check the temp because i realized i wasn't thinking about cold hands or forearm cramps.
My only negative so far is that they have a short wrist cuff with a velcro closure, so it's not a tight neoprene seal and you get more water entry than a longer neoprene cuff. I was still able to have the wrists under my suit but a longer wrist would be better, maybe next version.
They're pretty thin which probably accounts for the lack of cramping, but also they are not super toasty. I could feel coolness/cold, but didn't have frozen fingers. Might still be too cold for some people?

Thanks for the update. I've been out a couple of times of with a hybrid of the Ion hybrid. Got Ion mitts from Jesse coupled with the Home Despot gloves mentioned here
https://bigwavedave.ca/forums/topic/10577.html . Think the ones I actually got were
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/gorill ... 1001692291 . So far, WAY warmer than 3 mm gloves with holes + nitrile gloves.
