I'm one of the three who voted for an open forum for members AND guests.
On the whole there is remarkably little "flaming" that goes on at this site and what little there is is kind of entertaining. I don't see what restricting the site to members only will accomplish except to suppress free expression of opinion and ideas.
Oh yeah, Thanks BWDave for the site.

I haven't completely decided yet, but I'll likely make the forum members only and keep the message board as is. I don't really have a problem with them both as is, but I know some people do. I feel the positive guest posts outweigh the negative ones. I'm finishing up the new webcam page (where only BWD group members can zoom one at a time), and then I'll think about changing the forum.

I think the occasional negative vibes are just a blemish on the overall greatness of the page and all Dave's work. I think registered or unregistered is irrelevant - I don't know the faces behind many of the handles anyways. I do hope all folks who frequent the page stop to thank Dave for all his hard work when they see him, and slip him a few $$$$ from tiem to time to keep the page powered up.
I vote to leave it wide open...unfortunately i'm such a computer moron I can figure out how to vote...
