:D Hey, any concerned windsurfers or bystanders, if you open the DEFLATION VALVE on the main bladder any inflatable kite will be immobilized!

1. Buy Airush impact vest, not becouse they are any better/worse/floatier etc than anyother but because they have a pocket that zips up in the middle of the chest.
2. Drop into any sailing shop and pick up a water proof cover for your cell phone.
3.Put your cellphone (make sure it's an older one that you don't have to flip to open and be sure it's fully charged) in the waterproof container and take it with you whenever you are kiting/windsurfing. You can talk right into these things, mine looks just like this and the reception is good most places, I have purposely dropped in water and called wife and was could hear her telling me to come home and cut the lawn! http://www.tonefire.com/cell-phone-acce ... uph20.html
4. It's better to be onshore looking out to sea wishing you were there than the other way around if the wind suddenly swings offshore. I was very nearly killed off Peurtorico several years ago scuba diving on a night dive when we go nailed by a huge storm. I have never gone into the water without my cellphone since
5. That's my 2 cents, c u on the water

IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO TAKE LESSONS, TAKE THEM !!!! THIS IS MONEY WELL SPENT. YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE ON THE WATER SAILING BEFORE THE UNSCHOOLED. LESSONS WERE NOT OFFERED WHEN I STARTED AS THE INSURANCE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS VERY CLOSE TO BOOKING A TRIP TO CABARETE JUST FOR LESSONS AS IT TOOK ATLEAST 6 (WINTER) MONTHS OF SHLOGGING BEFORE I HAD A RIDE OVER 30 SECONDS. ALSO, USED EQUIPMENT IS LESS THAN HALF PRICE OF RETAIL NOW, SO USE THE MONEY SAVED AND LEARN PROPERLY.

The last of the aftermath... I hope.
Finally just went out to untangle the lines and it's 2 1/2 hours later, but bar and lines survived just fine(Nice!!). Good day for it to. Oh, and I forgot to mention in the story. My sunglasses were lost in the ordeal. Thats the second pair gone due to kiting... Oh well, good thing I know a crab with glasses.
Just waiting on kites in the shop, and I promised to get an impact vest. Then, I'll be back!

Nice.
But I think it'll be a couple of weeks anyway, maybe more, before I can join you.
I have to finish a biology course, then I go back into the forest for a while.
I'll have BWD fever by then!
Coast Guard? I'm thinking a baywatch life guard type, just waiting on the beach to come rescue us.. wink, wink, nudge, nudge
