3 litres is nothing. besides you will probably get fatter as the years go by.

Ps - I have sailed the quad 92 and 82. you get a sense the quads can handle a TON of wind as they are nice short shapes and they stick to the water rather than finwalk around. I never tried the smaller one because the wind never nuked on my trip. For a small board at CB where you typically are on your 4.7 or 4.2 I’m sure you can go with either the 74 or 77 with no worries. I think with the 77 you would gain a bit in terms of earlier planing but not lose unless it’s a 3.0 day. One thing you will notice on the new quad shape is the rails are thinned down and the deck domed vs the flat deck and boxy rails on your 74.. this will make it seem smaller anyway. fwiw - I weigh 175 lb and my normal CB board is a RRD 78. 8) oregon coast, you might enjoy 3 extra litres.

Mark- I'd let u try my 85 Quatro if only I could have it sent from Maui...my passport just arrived finally so might as well wait for Oregon
if you are heading to Maui, free demo if you wanted for a retrieval trip.

I have found the QQ 95 to have amazing hi end, sails like a much smaller board and only when winds were mid 40's did I think perhaps the 85 would be more compfy, never out of control tho like single fins. I found the 95 is happy to 5.3, if anything they sail like a lower volume board. Try Moo's 85, I bet is has similar characteristics as the 74 Evo in terms of volume feel. My AHD 87 on the other hand really feels much larger and floatier even in trifin mode. That's why I am selling the AHD, it is a lot like the 95 Quatro in terms of volume feel.
BTW Quatro makes their Quad in a 75L but Levi Siver curiously sails only 85 & 95L according to his buddy Pascal Bronniman, appreciating Levi probably has a few pounds on you.

TheLaw, I think this looks more like your type of twin fin
Serenity Now!
The kids might even fit on there.

I agree with DWD about the fatter comment. I think the SB's sail more true to their size compared to the Quatro's (where most people go bigger than normal), that's why I originally suggested the 74 quad. Plus you are an efficient sailor, plus you're not really that heavy, plus you have a bigger board (A+B=fun). But I agree that the 74 or 77 would work. The 74 would give you a bit more high end, but how many 3.5 days do you sail? You might be happier to have the 77 and use it on the lighter days too. The multi fin boards do handle higher wind better and don't feel all over finned like an old single fin

That said, I am getting the 77 as my medium/big board but I'm like 135lbs (61kg) now  so you have a few pounds on me. Again you are welcome to try it. Take it out on a 4.2 day and you'd have your answer pretty quickly.

71 SB quad 2010 planes up fast so if you have a second board ( 85 to 95) I don't think you need to go big for the Starboard if you want a medium to high wind board. I have the 86 L Fanatic Freewave and would definitely not need anything between these two boards. I would probably try and find the 74 or consider 2010. The multi fins handle more wind but the boards still have their sweet spots. Likely good deals on 2010 SB as they changed the fin system. Seems to be better reviews on the 2011 but I think it is the large stock fins. So you would need a second set of fins for the 2010 but might need another set for 2011 anyway. 2011 would be more versatile as you can use as a twin but I don't think that is that big a deal to me. Maybe if we got more down the line in various conditions.
