If I'm not foiling I do everything in one go. If I'm foiling I do it in Ross Bay so just a short carry. Don't generally go on the other side and frontal stuff like that is hard to spot this far out.

City has put a steel post attached to the side of the stairs at the bottom, a no beach fire sign, this restricts what size sail you can take down already rigged to maybe a 4.0m2 anything bigger you will need to rig on the beach, thank Lisa hinders.

See wiki....Agate is for NE, cold front winter (Nov-Jan) winds, windshadow for SE
Happy to help you get the Volar, AST cheaper even than the Carbon, could check closeouts stock.

That's good to know about new sign always wondered why no one goes to ross bay side wind not quite as good until past clover point?I think id rather sail out than carry everything down, I went to agate not much wind anywhere but was probably7-8 knots the odd whitecap but uphauled the kombat 114 and slogged around a bit at least I know I can get back to the beach now. Have to work on waterstarts.

It's an easy carry Maui style, one trip then rig on the beach.

Only on my bicycle. Tempted by Piper's today but feeling lazy. Might just see about Esquimalt Lagoon, not hopeful though.

Kind of narrowed things down from looking at prices etc. Goya volar eco at 21.12lbs and fanatic gecko ltd foil edition 16.94lbs Wondering if the 4lbs is a big deal in early planing. Foil option is also nice but not for a while. Inboard footstraps are nice on goya . I assume they are pretty similar except for weight. Any opinions? 2018 gecko foil on sale $1500 cad. volar $1800ish

For me I'd want the lighter weight plus foil option.

Let me know on the price 2018 closeouts would be fine. Pretty good deal on the ltd gecko though. (also nos carrera 130 carbon might work
)
