I think I just realized one reason globes videos of the Spit are so appealing.
Because the wind is coming over the spit the camera can be very close to the action on the water. Am I right? Must be a unique kite beach.
Then there are the tunes (ok, not all the tunes!).

Martin,
You should see us at the spit on a true SE, you can actualy cut up wind, jump over the crowds of people on shore only to be pulled back into the bay on landing. We have also had some brave photographers venture out in the cold water with expensive cameras.
