Ethan,
I would help you out but already have Pasta and John and myself (plus marion) and our gear in the Honda for the trip back to Sooke.
Should be interesting!
Perhaps someone else is driving back this way.

Hey Rod is staying at my place tonight. Is there another vehicle doing the ride back to sooke? Can he get a ride with somebody?
Where is the crew meeting? At Tugwel Creek or ? Luke are you going to drive the boat up and nose it in or are you launching it up here? You can launch at Jock's Doc in Sooke?

I'm going to drive the boat to where the flag is on the web cam. I might have to anchor it and swim to the beach
I suggest someone from sooke drive to the rvyc and leave a car there and motor up with me in the boat.
Be at the rvyc by 1200 if you want to ride up. It won't be as bad as Adrian says it is. It's a good boat.

Greg, Pasta,
Working on getting a different vehicle, think more truck like as the Honda is going to be more than tight. Haven't even figured out how to get my surfboard in there!
As it appears there will be 8 of us on the downwider, I think I can handle the meeting and launch from our lawn. Drive in and drop off your gear and then park on West Coast road.
Just thinking "low impact" here with regards to my great neighbours.
Meeting, launch, and slip away quietly into the night so to speak.
Anyone need directions?
Little concerned about the gale forecast for later today but hopefully, I can hang onto my 7m through race passage!

Luke,
Our place is about 200 meters east of the flag/cam.
The garage has a bright red metal roof, which is easy to spot.
Will be looking for you.

Im driving up with Ethan in my car but he'll be driving back in a van so I'm sure boards can fit there rather than the passenger car!
I was thinking of trying to hang onto my 12m... the 9.5 might be too conservative but the 12 could be a little crazy near race

12:45 pm. osr. all is looking good here for the start. windy, and it's filling in all the way to Cook. It's just the ominous fog bank that is sitting upwind that makes me nervous. we might be outrunning it at 4 pm.

Right pasta, looking mighty fine out there.
Fog has burnt off and the sun is finally warming things up.
Just checked my lines, board fin screws etc.
Good to go.
