Missing Naish Glbal M windsurf board in Georgia Strait

Post by tempy »

My Naish Global M windsurf board became detached from my rig in the break at Columbia Beach today. I tried in vain to retrieve it down the beach, but the current and wind pushed it further north and out to sea. Discretion is the better part of valour, so I gave up and swam back in after 30 min of going after it. Coast guard has been told the rider is safe.

If you find it I would be grateful for its return.

Picture of the same board below.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear about your lost board. I was just admiring it on your truck rack a couple days ago while you were out foiling. Beautifiul carbon/kevlar weave showing up under the blue tint epoxy. So sad. Hope it washes up on a sandy beach and is returned.
I'm glad you are safe on shore. Fortunately it happened on the inside and not the outside making for a safe water exit for you!

Board

I was just thinking that without the rig the board would go fast, as stated, and likely would take a pretty straight downwind course. I wonder if a Google Earth search with a wind direction might indicate a probable location. Hopefully, you get it back, looks nice.

No way! You definitely need a "Me so Hornby" sticker for that board now. Great news.

Adrian, send me a pic / describe the gear and i will see what I can do.

Did you contact the Coop there and the marina to let them know it is missing?

I put out a "missing" ad in Facebook marketplace and that is how I got advised about mine.

Retrieved the board. Some minor superficial rail damage, but otherwise ok. Fins good. Gunk in the slots. Could have been worse.
