That is awesome Dave, have you tried feeding that applet to anything yet?

Jeamer - any chance you can post a simple process for the rest of us to make that happen? I am completely coding illiterate beyond basic html code used on things like BWD's bulletin board. . .

so I gotta ask, have ANY of you guys ever gotten laid :?:

personally my applet looks like DWD's but I can usually eat it cuz I'm not writing some code constantly and have my latest page open.....oh, and I tend to look out the window every once in a while or even step outside

you guys crack me up

Hi Sonic

If you use Ubuntu Linux as your OS ( as jeamer does ) that is pretty straight forward. I can send you PM about the process. Not many people use Linux therefore no need to flood about it here.

If you use Windows XP or ME you'd have to settle with Dave's instructions.
If you use Windows 2000 or 98 - you are out of luck. Use JL's instructions.
If you use Windows Vista - use RSS desklet from the standard OS bundle.
If you are on Mac OSX - you have to use RSS widget on the widget layer

Cheers

Hey S.S., just making sure you know too that Ubuntu is free and available for download at www.ubuntu.com.

If you don't want to dive right in and download an operating system right off the bat (which I don't think anyone in the right mind should do :) ), you can download the live CD and just try it out off a CD if you want. I could then show you how to get the "widget" like RSS reader on ubuntu if you like--and it doesn't involve any coding!

Hey Kus, whats this "laid" you speak of? Girls are scary....
