there's no shortage of crazies!

Check out this one -> http://nanaimo.craigslist.ca/spo/5061834116.html

"This is basically a used Ferrari for the windsurfing, surfing and SUP (stand-up paddle board) world.
11" carbon fibre box fin with SS mounts. A couple of minor nicks, but they don't affect the performance of this world class fin.

It was about $300 when new."

That shape just screams performance to me, I guess a suckers born every minute. Let's just hope this one's not a BWDer. I guess the lesson here is if you're not sure ask first.

not me! I have seen that fin ad renewed a few times actually.. seems like no one is jumping at the chance to get that 'used Ferrari' feeling.

Someone will probably find this attractive, but I think it's pretty hilarious.

wow...put the Ferrari fin on that bad boy, you're ready to hit the waves in style

old windsurfers make good learning sup's....once you can paddle one of those, a regular sup is so easy. But for free, not $150. One fun thing is catching a wave, the dagger board slot becomes a fountain, faster you go the bigger the jet.

Looks like an old bic.

I was thinking about this the other day. I wonder how long it will be before the popout big 12' or 11' x 30" SUPs that places like costco, MEC, Candian Tire, plus more sell will be poping up with ridiculous prices, from people with no knowledge of the sport?? I think I've heard Canadian tire used to sell windsurfing gear in the 80s not to mention the Aquaglider in the early 2000s

Looks a little on the heavy side, "kids rig". Hmm the whole Italian thing... must be another Ferrari of windsurfing, so it must be a steal of a deal.

here's another one

Can anyone tell me the reason for the tail on this board??
My neighbour had this and I told him it was worth maybe $20. He said he would donate it somewhere.... looks like whoever got it thought they could make some dough...

It's a "can opener" asymmetrical board. Longer rail line for the bottom turn side at Hookipa and a shorter, curved section for the top turn. Looks like one of the boards from one of the classic Neil Pryde videos from the late eighties/early nineties! Piece of history there, but a piece of **** none the less  .

Maybe this explains it:

http://www.surfscience.com/topics/surfb ... rd-designs

Here's one combined with the "Tinkler Tail" (An interview with the "inventor" http://www.surfingvancouverisland.com/surf/st409.htm)

and a video ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzw_F2ADrcY

My French isn't good enough to figure out what he is talking about.

:) :o Ahh - newbies - it's a classic Hookipa asymmetric board! Long starboard rail for drawn out fast DTL bottom turn and cut-away port rail for a shorter, slashier off-the-lip. Saw a few more new ones in an un-named pro/custom-shop over there recently, poised to make a come-back - so buy that one for as much as you can afford!!
:D :D
