I've just moved to Vancouver but will be in Victoria on Saturday/Sunday. My plan is to take the afternoon ferry back to Van and sail with the Vancouver crowd at Boundary Bay (which is B & J i think).
My question is: Is there a good wave spot around Victoria that works on a SE? If so, I'd rather stay on the island and sail waves than B & J.

Island View beach on route to the ferry terminal has great waves, exit E off Hwy 17 before getting into town. Potential current, shorebreak & big swell not for novices
Willows Beach in Oak Bay is protected, minor shorebreak, lighter wind and novice friendly. Clover Point at the Dallas Road waterfront in downtown is great SE waves, current, reef/rock and poor emergency beach landing, not novice friendly.
Nice timing, BB is B&J and WEEDVILLE, Point Bob might be a better bet but don't sail there alone, current/tide, better stay here

my one experience sailing a SE at JR was it set up a weird random criss-cross mess..thats what i was alluding to in my earlier post. still, maybe a bigger swell combined with lighter winds would turn out better. worth a check though, you should stay on the island if you can, theres always island view and columbia to consider, they are sort of close to the respective ferry terminals. both will have "waves" if its windy enough. see pic of the week.
