Has anyone windsurfed in Belize? Thinking of going for an exotic vacation. Anybody been there before?

Lived in Corazal Town and across the bay at the Cerros site for four months (hi res here on google earth; check out the place names; many of the Creole-English names like "Pulltrouser Swamp" are highly entertaining). That was before I windsurfed but I taught sailing to a couple that had just bought a little keelboat and an American guy who'd bought a Hobie 16. Reefed mains and working jib were the norm in the afternoon (this was January through April) and we were still overpowered most of the time. I think it would have been superb for windsurfing, swellish chop (the bay is very shallow) and wind in the mid-20s every afternoon. I was boatman for the archaeology project later and we had to be pretty careful crossing the bay. The project had sunk three boats the year before (alcohol may have been a contributing factor
). I'm not sure if the wind is as strong on the outer cays (Abergris Cay and Cay Caulker are the main tourist ones), but the water is much clearer there and there is a reef that may? be surf/windsurfable. There's holes in the reef so you could get out and sail the Atlantic swell. First-rate diving as well.
If you have the chance, go on a riverboat trip up some of the wild rivers; awesome jungle, caves, and lots of Mayan ruins, many of them unexcavated.
