I bought a cheep, huge ass board to learn how to windsurf on but i did not realize it dosnt have a mast clamp. Mast clamp conects the boom to the mast, right?
So does anyone have a used mast clamp to sell? I assume there are several different styles and sizes to make this real simple.
Thanks for any help.
Jeremy.

yes, but there are roughly 8 million different booms styles, brands, diameters both inside and outside, arm bend angles/ curves, wave vs. slalom vs. course, carbon/alu/teak
, attachment points, mast diameters......good luck unless you have a very common brand such as Chinook. I have one clamp for a regular diameter mast but you need to provide more info.

Maybe its so old it doesn't have a clamp, just the rope 'inhaul' line from the boom to the mast? If so, it can be rigged but its so floppy and hard to use you are better to discard and buy something used and cheap but a modern rig. Although you may have trouble then connecting the mast to the board......

I have a couple of older, but still very usable booms I have been keeping as spares. they are just taking up room in my shed. you can have them for free if you like. Probably easier and safer than trying to cobble together an old boom. I live in Nanaimo if you can pick them up.

It could be how your trying to use the boom that you have. We windsurfed for many years before the clamp came along. The trick is to take up the slack in the in-haul with the boom swung toward the mast. Then when you swing the boom back out it tightens up like crazy. Given the choice, I'd rather have a clamp but what you've got will work.
