Baja travel in January.
I am considering driving to La Ventana in the second week of January, then returning by end of Febuary.
Does anyone want to share driving and expenses in a VW Westy?
Alternately, I'd consider helping another kiter drive his rig down in the same time frame.
PM me or Email at

Good plan man! I'll be leaving in Dec. and returning in Feb/March. I'll see you there.
Make sure your vehicle is up for the hot desert 2 day drive in the middle of nowhere where a breakdown would really be bad news.
And apparently the Toll highway after Tiajuana before Enciada is pretty sketchy this year with construction taking out the shoulders, and as I recall that would put you waaay up high on a high speed highway with no shoulders!- but likely not as sketchy as the local roads in the same area.
Is this the windsurfing Giles from Gordon's? If so I'll drive with you if you are fully stocked with sample wine and beer!

Martin, Thanks for the update. Still getting some shortie days?
Pastadude, Tom S and Arturo are coming for supper on Saturday around 17:30. Would you like to join us? Call me at home, 480-0058 or on mobile, 514-1279. We'll get in a Mexico frame of mind.
Giles.

Martin,
Thanks for the update. We are envious!
On Saturday, Tom S, Rick Roberts, Arturo and Sherrin, Jimmy Lewis and friend Utta, Jimmy's daughter Colleen, and Marcus joined Woynshet, Avery and I for a send-off dinner for Tom and Art, who will be heading your way today. I made a couple of dozen beef enchiladas plus rice, beans and salad. We washed down these morsels with plenty of Pacificos, Coronas and Negra Modelos, followed by a good range of quality tequilas. Woynshet produced a fine apple crumble with home roasted Ethiopian coffee. All in all a great evening of spirited conversation, laughter, tales of the road and sea.
So Martin, look for Tom and Art coming out of the West in a week or so.
