Hey! New to Vic and was wondering where I should go tomorrow morning?(knock on wood!)

I've been to Island view before but never to Willows. How do you guys/gals make your choice if both places are forecasting roughly the
same conditions?

I prefer riding my surfboard in the rollers and the whole lauching/landing/staying upwind etc. are not issues... Hopefully that will help with the advice?!

c you all out there... where???

thanks! jason

p.s. anywhere I can get some wave action in on a N.E. close to here????

IVs your best bet for wind and wavelets. willows is offshore on a NE.

Hmmm just looked at the map and now I'm confused?!

From what I can see, a NE wind would make Willows cross-shore and not off-shore. Unless, of course, you are talking about Cattle Point? Where do you launch at Willows? If it's anywhere along the main beach then a NE wind would be perfect but if it's on that little strip of beach adjacent to Cattle Point that faces SW, then yes, it would be off-shore.

just wondering....

Here's a thought. Split the difference between IV and Willows and go to Agate beach! If too N or NNE or even NE then Willows will be too gusty sideshore in the lee of Cattle Point. Agate will have more waves than IV, but neither very wavy because of limited fetches. Check the WIKI sailing guide for directions to Agate beach.

Nice rocdoc!! I'll assume that I rig up in the usuall IV location and walk south of the boat launch??

thanks again....

Sorry Jake, I could let you assume that (LOL) but Agate Beach is at north end of Cordova Bay about a couple miles south of IV.

Heading north from town turn right from Cordova Bay Rd onto Agate Lane. More detailed directions from Victoria on WIKI Sailing Guide.

Willows sucks, never hits, I.V. most reliable.
