I know this music festival is not wind sport related, but since it is located a mere 3km away from a light wind thermal destination, I thought it might be worth sharing just in case some of you do like to assist a music fest but are not too keen on sacrificing a windy weekend for it.

Band info here - > http://www.harbourliving.ca/event/tall- ... c-festival

Proceeds from the festival go towards:

The Ancient Forest Alliance (AFA), a new British Columbia organization working to protect the endangered old-growth forests of BC, in particular Avatar Grove and the Port Renfrew area.

Aside from attending the festival, you can contribute to the cause through www.ancientforestalliance.org and help reach their goal of $20,000 by Summer Solstice, June 21, 2010 (Current Total at May 6 $8,854).

Also good is:
“To reduce the footprint of the event there will be a parking 'carbon tax' placed on vehicles arriving with less than three people...”

The good thing about this place is that if you don’t want to camp on site and having music/party all day/evening/night long... You can camp on Patcheedaht and enjoy SUP/Cayak/Canoe along the river/ocean little waves or WS/Kiteboard with big gear during the day (if there is wind) and party at night.
Bunch of us already have a campsite reserved on Patcheedaht north side (3km away from festival), will also put 2-3 old tents/sleeping bags on site of the festival in case some people want to crash on site because they are too wasted and having too much fun to take the sober drive ride back. (more than likely a couple of people).

Anyhow,Patcheedaht is kid family outdoors friendly, (95% of the partier will obviously camp on Mt Brown music fest site, the few that will camp on Patcheedaht will be quiet since they will use it to sleep only (or doing outdoors stuff like us during the day).
