Road Closure Port Alberni to Nitinat Aug 23rd to Aug 30th

Bamfield Mainline will be closed at 18 km for a necessary bridge replacement during this fisheries window. The closure will begin on Monday August 23rd at 6am and will be open for access on the following Monday August 30th. Given the location of this bridge, there are no detours available by other roads. Access to Port Alberni from Nitinat or Bamfield will only be available by the Island Highway. Access to Nitinat or Bamfield will be available via Cowichan Lake, Carmanah Mainline and Bamfield Mainline from 35km onward.
