Thats four guys I know have broken collarbones biking this year. One was a motorbike crash so maybe that doesn't count although the upset was at very slow speed. Two on bikes in the last few weeks with pics of what looks like a Home Hardware fastener bin in the xrays. Note to self.....
Hope you are better soon Mike!!

Bummer!!!!
Hi Mike, get well soon, lots of horsetail silica, vit c and vit d3 drops will help you uptake the building blocks you need to repair the bone. Cheers Tim

Compounded fractured mine too. 4 weeks of hell. 4 weeks of slowly improving whereupon i was mobile couple more weeks and i was active again albeit with some pain.
Heals stronger than original. Not like a separated or dislocated at all, once you do either of those your shoulders are problematic from then on.
Get used to sleeping on your back Dave.
Good luck.

Looking good there Mike! now, what to with your new accessory. I found this article that discuses the pros and cons. My own plate seems to have no significant issues, even after a few backpacking trips this summer. I have yet to go through an airport metal detector!
Is removal of clavicle plate after fracture union necessary?

hmmm ... In my case, I was recommended to go with the latest tech -- the dis-solvable plate n screws, so they melt away after a year or so. No need to remove. I heard they still had some old inventory up in Duncan, with the titanium stuff. Maybe you got that?
but really ... looks like a wait and see. I'm not too keen to be opened up again ... although, there was this one nurse ....
