Looking at the cam picks, is there a good reason why we don't sail/kite Cook St. on a SE. When I see this picture,

I think that it must be possible. Any thoughts on this?

What about launching in the corner at clover point? It must be somewhat protected.

all i can say is ive checked it once on a big se and i couldnt get off the stairs. on lighter days or lo tides it might be ok! i think when a se is on though, the main east side spots are more consistient and "safer".
thats an impressive photo though!

Thanks, I usually sail IV, but it looks so tempting in that photo.

I saw Darwin and Marathon Dave kite at kook st. on a SE last year. It was crazy windy, and crazy conditions. But it can be done. And I think AC may have gone on a nicer day and sailed from Clover?
Anyway, if you can score a safe launch, no reason not to try it!

It only happens a few times a year but when it gets good it is usually pretty gnarly But Great Fun.
