Nitinat Kite Sizes

Heading out to Nitinat this weekend (19th) on motorcycle so space is extremely limited. Gradients are forecast to be:
10 degrees
11 degrees
11 degrees

But 2 days ago they were forecast to be way less, like 3 degrees.

I'm going to either bring 12m/7m or 10m/7m. I'm leaning towards 12m/7m that way I should have my bases covered and my 10m and 12m are about the same packed size. Mostly TT riding, no space for other boards.

My 12m is good for 14-25 knots, while my 10m does 16-28 knots.

Any thoughts?

I see there have been some 15-20 knot days on the BWD logs lately.

Weight? I'm 185 and a 10m is all I really need out there.

Depends if you can wait a couple hours while it picks up... if you can the sessions around 2-3pm are good but sometimes the best are 5-7pm

I'd go 10 / 7m if you're a lighter guy!

I'd go 10 and extra beer and bacon.

I'm 165, packed the bike up last night and decided I can fit the Shinnster on too so I'll probably be on my 7m most of the time.

I packed my 12/7 combo in my 7m bag nicely but now that I have a surfboard I should really switch to 10/7, I'm worried the 10 will take up more space though :S

Sunday's gradient is back down to 5 degrees though so I might just stick with the 12 as insurance.

I've got ~40 lbs on you and don't use a 12m all that often up there, especially when I have a surfboard...
I'd do 7/10

I didn't know Paul owned anything other than two 10m's until last weekend!

Good times at Nitinat this weekend.

Kites wise I would have been equally served with 12/7 as I was with 10/7 but able to ride my TT more. I rode 7m + SB Friday and was underpowered and then 10m + SB Sat/Sun with a bit of TT when the wind picked up at times.

No shortages of 12m kites on the water.
